Remorseless

Chapter Six

When we returned up top, we had discussed what we had discovered. I was frustrated. I didn't know what was going on.

"I don't like that...so you're saying the 'Circus Baby' didn't respond the way she had the night before?" Uncle asked,  suspicious.

"I don't know..." I rubbed the temples of my head, frustrated. How could we help if we didn't know what was happening?

"Hey, there's someone at the door!" Our nightguard poked his head out of the office.

I looked at my watch, and it was almost 3am.

"Let her in!" I called.

In came the barista from the shop. I secretly glanced at Foxy,  who was trying to hide the fact that he was blushing.

"Hey, Zayla." I waved. "Thank you for bringing the coffee!"

"No problem!" Zayla greeted, and set the coffee on a party table. I gave her the money for them. "I haven't been here in a long time." She continued. "Is Foxy still out of order?"

"No, he's been fixed for a while." Uncle chimed in. "This one is mine right?" He picked up a cup of coffee that wasn't labeled.

"You're the one who likes your coffee to taste like death?" Zayla asked. Uncle laughed.

"You've been talking to (Y/N) I see." He laughed, and took a sip.

"Yeah. She and Felix helped me alot tonight. And that's exactly how she ordered it." She smiled sweetly. "Can I...just go look at Foxy?"

"Knock yourself out." I smiled. "You like foxy huh?"

"He's my favorite!"

I nudged Felix, grinning. Quietly, I told him to join her at Pirate's Cove, and then joined everyone else in the coffee drinking to discuss in detail what we were going to do next.

"What's with them?" Freddy asked, almost in a whisper.

"Oh, I don't know,  but it looks like our Foxy may have a crush."

"Aw!!" Chica said, a little too loud, that caught their attention.  She then turned around and drank her coffee like nothing happened.

"Anyway,  what's the plan then?" Bonnie asked. "I'm afraid what those robots think of us after having to shock them.  What if Circus Baby turns on us?"

"Im concerned too." Freddy commented. "We didn't have a choice though, and it isn't like she helped at all by keeping quiet.  (Y/N) did call out to her a few times."

"What worries me is that the voice guide said that it was a nightly duty." I said. "I don't want to have to come back and shock them all the time. They don't deserve it for simply stepping off their stages."

Oh how little I knew.

"Marty, what's your take on all this?" Freddy asked. Marty was just sitting there,  listening to us and seemed to shy to any kind of contribution to the conversation.

"You gave life to the original 4 right?" Uncle asked, and sat down with a note pad for any important details. "Would it be possible that there are more that had passed on by murder or any other means, and then brought to life in those robots?"

"It would be possible if I did it..." Marty explained.  "But I didn't.  Something seems odd about them. With the originals,  what bound their souls was their hatred and lust revenge."

"Ugh... don't remind us." Bonnie looked away.

"However..." Marty continued, "Circus Baby seemed unusually nice for someone that could be anything like the originals. Something attracted me to them though.  I wonder what it was. But there is no doubt in my mind that somehow, they are connected to the ones here."

"I know they are. The guide was telling us that they opened when Freddy's had to close." I pointed out. "Not to mention,  that animatronic to the right was named Foxy. Funtime Foxy. I wonder if...." I trailed off.

"Found it!" Gordon, like a creeper, was hiding in a corner with a laptop.  He had looked up all the info we were curious about.

"Gordon! Were you there this entire time??" Chica asked.

"Entering and leaving a room with little to no noticing of others around me is my specialty." He made his way over with a laptop.

"AND you did research in the meantime?" Uncle asked. "You'd make a great detective, I'm impressed!"

"Thanks!" Gordon smiled so happily when he had gotten that compliment. "Anyway, I looked up when Freddy's could have closed. It was  LONG time ago, and it wasn't even this location."

"There are others?" I asked.

"There were others." He contined. "Circus Baby was part of a new location, called Circus Baby's Pizza World. It was going to open right after the Freddy's location closed. But it says here...it never opened because of leaks."

"Leaks? Like what kind of leaks?" Bonnie asked.

"It doesn't say. My guess is that it could be gas leaks. You know, you can't open an establishment that's got gas leaks. It's dangerous for the guests that might go there. Maybe the building just wasn't safe. "

"But a gas leak is fixable. Easily fixable." Uncle pitched in.  "Why didn't they just postpone the grand opening and fix the leak?"

"Unless..." Marty spoke. Almost in a whisper, "what if...There was no gas leak?"

We all looked at one another,  trying to figure out what Marty was trying to say, but he was too lost in his own thoughts to finish.

"They were kept underground in a storage facility in an unknown location." Gordon found out upon further investigation. "We'll it's known now..."he chuckled and continued to scroll. "Oh! This is interesting! The creator of the 'Funtime' animatronics you found were created by a man named William Afton with Afton Robotics. He was partners with the man that originally owned Freddy's and created the original animatronics here."

"What??" I was confused,  and looked at Uncle who was writing it all down. "This is confusing. Why are they here then??"

"We will find out. We just need to catch Circus Baby again." Chica explained. "She'll answer our questions...I hope..."

"Well then, let's call it a night for tonight. Good work, Gordon" I praised. We all got ready to pack up and leave, except for Foxy, who was talking to Zayla the whole time about how much she loved Foxy the Pirate.

"Felix, we're gonna head out! You coming?" Bonnie asked, careful ti vall him by his human name so Zayla wasn't confused. Foxy and Zayla said their goodbyes.

"We'll be by around 11 pm to get coffee! I called to her as we all left the building.

"See ya then!" She waved.
