Now this movie was made in 2006 and its also a B horror movie classic. So the movie wasn't shot as great as others today, but this was a great movie. One of my favorites. I love the corniness, the campiness, and my God! The kills! So good and bloody!

This movie is a horror comedy so expect corny jokes. I find them amusing.

I also like how our male lead, Ben who is played by Joel, and his best friend Marcus, played by Deon, are with each other. The bickering and the way they treat each other is how best guy friends are with each other. They really care about each other, and when Marcus is killed Ben is so emotional he throws up and wants to give up.

This movie is sooo over dramatic in the best ways possible. We have your porno director and two porn actresses in the movie, one is the typical dumb blond and the other is spunky new Yorker. Their bickering is humors cause their comments to each other are so stupid.

And Kane Hodder. Man I love this guy! Can't ask for a better person to play Victor Crowley and his dad. He's strong, large, and willing to go threw ANYTHING while doing a movie. I love how he takes his role so seriously in movies as well. I love Kane Fucking Hodder!

Robert Englund, All hail King Robert Englund, is only in it at the very beginning but his character is an important character for the first three movies. He is the father of our leading lady Marybeth, played by Amara. He and his son are killed. Though you don't see Robert's character die, you do see the gruesome after math before his sons painful and slow death.

Can I say that the kills in this movie is one of the best I have ever seen? This series is awesome when it come to the kills. Their all gruesome, gory, and blood filled. I LOVE IT!!!! It's all done with practical effects none of that CGI bullshit. I love a great practical effect, and for a b movie? Its awesome. And soooo gruesome. I can't stop singing the praises of this series kills.

Perry Shen... I have to mention Perry Shen. HE'S IN THE WHOLE SERIES AS DIFFERENT PEOPLE! He keeps popping up in the movies as a new character, except in the fourth one where he plays the same guy he did in the third one. But its so funny. And he's so dramatic in this one. He does goofy accents and over the top actions and words. He is highly amusing. And even though it was his character's fault that the boat gets stuck, you kinda understand him. He was only filling in for his brother and didn't know the lands as well.

Marybeth is a good final girl. In this one she is quiet and mousey, and only becomes interesting when the chaos starts, but you will still like her. She is on a mission to find her dad and brother who had gone missing and is hoping she wasn't to late, even though she is. She is dead set on getting out of the swamp alive, she's sassy as hell as well, willing to hit anyone who doesn't listen to her or mocks her.

Dislikes

There isn't much I dislike about this movie. It's right up my ally with the gore, the kills, the humor, and such. So I got nothing but love for this movie and I will watch the entire series anytime.

The Kills

So there is a lot to chose from when it comes to kills in this movie. But I have to say that my favorite kill in this movie has to be the annoying vacation wife. She just saw her husband get hacked up and started running while screaming. Victor grabs her by the upper jaw and jerks her head open. The camera pans over the head and you can see the skin and muscles being torn. Then you see blood squirting everywhere and her tongue wiggle around. It was painful to watch at first and it was awesomely done again, WITHOUT CGI!

And my least favorite kill in the movie? I guess it would go to the nasty porn director. Though there are two off screen kills in this movie, nothing really special happens with his kill. Victor grabs his head and twists it till it does a 360. A great practical effect with some blood spray, but that perv needed a better death in my opinion.

Final thoughts & Rating

As this review CLEARLY shows, I really love this movie. Its such a good series if you want a campy horror comedy with random horror icons popping up with a lot of gore and kills. Its a great drinking game, its a great time to gross and creep out your sibling when they think they can handle your hard core horror cause they could sit threw the first IT remake.... *cough cough*

I HIGHLY recommend the series to any true horror lover. You'll have to watch the first three back to back, cause they start right after each other.

So seeing how I love this movie I give this movie a 10/10. The kills, the gore, Kane Hodder, all wrapped into one is a fun time to laugh and jump.
