The opening credits reminded me of the opening credits of The Collector and The Collection. I gave a little chuckle when Joey came out with the Pringles and was obviously covering the logo and name. I know why it was done, and I found that little thing humorous.
C is rather amusing. He's foul mouth and funny. Not the kind you want to take for a B&E.
For a low budget the effects are good and if give the make up crew two thumbs up for it. They did good. The music in the background is sometimes to loud at moments, but other then that it goes well with the movie, adding to the suspense, when the killer put on creepy lullaby music, it made the scene a bit more creepy.
The killer himself is rather strange, and creepy. Doesn't say a word, just whistles when he makes a sound. He even sits in Joeys car trying out his sunglasses, and eating pretzels.
The torture scenes were done very well. The burning of Lenny's hand, the slicing of the girl, Paige's, forehead, the drilling of a nail into Joey's head. All slow and malicious, and that wasn't all the torture clips.
I am also happy both brothers escaped with the kidnaped girl they found. And I hope that they all get the help they need and that this wasn't all for nothing and that Joey learns his lesson.
Dislikes
A small thing to pick on when the brother calls at the beginning it he does this sound with his mouth and it was really annoying. It was with every starting sentence. But that is just me. Its a pet peeve of mine.
So.. Their robbing homes, and they leave sound on their phones? I would make sure that it was on silence before even entering the house. I mean I know its for the plot but if you have been a thief for awhile like Joey keeps boasting about, then you would think he would be smart enough to turn his phone on silence just to be on the safe side.
Sometimes the voice audio doesn't sync right up with the actors, But that's also a pet peeve of mine.
Well that detective was pretty useless. He was in the beginning of the movie, and shows up at the climax of the movie just to be killed off screen. His only reason for showing up was to give the killer a gun.
And after everything, Joey goes back into the house! Why! Like I get it he had a week to get the money he owes.
Thoughts and Rating
Now this is a low budget movie that was requested to me by one of the producers of this movie whom I had conversations with on Facebook. And this movie was made a long time ago, and its a low budget as I said, so there is a lot of things that could've been fixed to make this movie better, but it would've needed a bigger budget to do those. So I cant fault them for that.
While I did get bored while watching the movie, it was a bit slow at the beginning, I did enjoy the brothers antics. I liked how they took care of each other. But it was to slow for my liking. I would've liked to see more kills, cause I am a kill type of girl, and I would've done a bit ore editing on it.
Like the sound of the characters talking, or gasping, didn't match up with their mouth movements. Also some of the audio soundtrack was to loud, I have sensitive ears so that's not on the film at all.
Now im not ranking kills cause there was only two.
So for the rating I will give this movie a 4/10. It was slow, and I got bored at times. I did question the things they did, but it was a good effort of the cast and crew. The actors showed emotion when they needed to, and not over dramatic emotion in most low budget movies which is a plus, that kind of stuff makes me hate low budget movies cause of the bad acting, but the actors in this weren't bad.
Would I recommend it? Yes, I would recommend all the movies I review unless I say so, Like the Sharon tate movie, I enjoy giving hard working film makers trying to make it my attention. So yes I would recommend it to someone who is starting out into horror movies.
This movie is on TubiTv, a completely free movie/tv app, and it's where I watched this movie. Give it a chance yall!
