Chapter 12

The ride to Cabintan took almost an hour. As we arrived, the sunrise looked so beautiful in the mountains. The breeze was also obvious in the place. Good thing I was wearing my jacket to keep warm. The place was beautiful as well. It's more nature-centered than any place. I gasped in awe as I saw some public signs and realized that there are a lot of natural spots here. I smiled at its beauty when Michael tapped me in the shoulder.

"Heaven's Peak? Let's have breakfast there. I called Mama Nene and told her we'll be coming."

I nodded as we walked to Heaven's Peak. As we arrived there, I saw the garden that surrounded the little house and the small cottages. I can't help but smile at the beauty. The place is heaven in so many levels. I am officially in love with the place.

"Michael." My head turned to see a woman calling Michael from a distance as she was running towards us. I saw Michael and he grinned, with arms open for a hug.

"Mama Nene." He shouted as he hugged the woman. She hugged him tightly as did Michael. Afterwards, they let go of the hug and instantly, her attention turned to me. Michael smiled as he looked at me.

"Mama, this is Flo. She's a cool friend I met in the city. Flo, this is Mama Nene. She's like my second mother here in the Philippines."

"Hi ma'am." I smiled as I wave at her, "Nice to meet you."

"Oh shush with the ma'am." She said as she hugged me, "Call me Mama Nene. Nice to meet you." Afterwards, she pulled away, then looked at Michael.

"Michael, you didn't tell me she's beautiful."

"Sinong beautiful mama?" (Who's beautiful mama?) A man came out, trying to approach us but suddenly stopped in his way and laughed as he shouted, "MIGUEL!"

This earned a laugh from Michael as the man ran towards him and hugged him, "Hey Lex." I smiled at the scene, since the man is quite loud and Michael went along with his vibe. They let go of the hug and looked at me.

"Woah." He shouted, causing me to giggle, "Hi I'm Lex. I'm more good looking than this guy here." He pointed at Michael who smacked him in the head. I giggled.

"Nice to meet you Lex. I'm Flo."

"Flo, this is Lex. Mama Nene's son. Lex, this is Flo. My friend."

"Stop lying Miguel."

"I'm not." Michael replied, raising his arms. Lex then turned to me.

"You know, you can tell me the truth: you Miguel's girlfriend?"

I was shocked, "Um, no."

"But you're single?"

"Never had a boyfriend in my life actually."

"Oh, perfect." Lex said as he pulled me to his side and placed his arm on my shoulder. We both face in front of Michael who was shaking his head, "What do you see?"

"I see Michael-"

"No. I do not see Miguel. I see Jack and his Rose. I see the Prince and his Cinderella. I see Romeo and his Juliet." He said dramatically as he pointed Michael and then me.

"Um, I'm Juliet?" I smiled.

"Okay Lex. Stop the teasing." Michael said as he pulled me towards him and wrapped his arm on my waist, causing me to blush but laugh at the teasing of Lex, "Let's eat cause I'm starving. How about you find her a date yeah?"

I blushed as Michael took my hand and pulled me with him going inside the small house for breakfast.

"You should date Miguel Flo. I heard he's a hot date." Lex shouted as he laughed.

"Very funny Lex." Michael said, causing me to giggle. He then turned to me and whispered, "Don't mind him about it. He's just funny that way."

"It's okay. In fact, I may consider it."

"What?"

I giggled, remembering what Lex said earlier, "Dating you."

"I may consider that too." He said as we laughed at the joke.

But I somehow wish it's real.

PS: The image shown is Heaven's Peak, one of the tourist attractions in Cabintan, Ormoc City. Cabintan is actually the last barangay of the city. It is also home to some beautiful tourist attractions in Ormoc City, especially the tallest mountain in Leyte, Alto Peak. I came in Cabintan the first time and I fell in love with the place.
