Chapter 26

"May ticket siya para sa Bacolod? Bound for Bacolod siya? (She has a ticket for Bacolod? She's bound for Bacolod?)"

"Nag-avail na siya mga buwan nang lumipas. (She availed for a ticket months ago)"

"Kailan ang alis daw diyan? (When will she leave according to the ticket?)"

"Bukas. (Tomorrow)"

"Alam ba ni Michael? (Did Michael know?)"

I woke up to the sounds of whispers. I then groaned, causing the two to stop and have their attention to me.

"Flo, are you okay?" Mama Nene came and sat on the bed to check on my temperature.

"Mama Nene? Lex?" I asked, "What are you doing here?"

"You were drunk Flo." Lex said, "Mama Nene stayed in the hotel while I was looking for you in the plaza last night. You were about to be raped when I found you. Did you remember any of it?"

I shook my head, "I was just trying to drink one can of beer while listening to a band. That's all I remembered."

"Here, I have soup and medicine for you to feel better. I'm pretty sure hangovers are not pretty for you." Mama Nene said as Lex helped me sit up and Mama Nene let me drink the soup and handed me the medicine after.

"Thank you." I smiled. She then smiled and took my injured hand.

"Lex, kindly get the bandage and disinfectant."

Lex immediately took them and gave them to Mama Nene. Then she took off my bandage and cleaned the wound.

"You need to take a bath first. Then we'll place a disinfectant and bandage on your wound alright?"

I nodded and picked my towel to take a bath. Mama Nene took some clothes and placed them in the sink as I took a bath. Afterwards, I dressed up and went out as Mama Nene took care of my wound.

"Are you feeling better now?"

"Yeah." I smiled shyly, "Thanks Mama Nene and Lex. You guys really don't have to do all of this."

"Well, we have no choice." Lex smiled, "Miguel went to us before he left. He said to look out for you. He said that you're not feeling better and that you might need us."

"Oh." I said, trying to control the tears from falling. I tried to smile it off but Mama Nene was so observant and even Lex noticed.

"He actually told us." Mama Nene admitted softly, "He was asking during Christmas if which is the best place for a lunch date. He told us that he's taking you out."

"He even wished to go back in time and to fix what was wrong between you two. It's really clear that he loves you, you know." Lex said.

"I love him too." I mumbled as tears rolled down my cheek. Mama Nene then hugged me as I continued to cry. We stayed like that for an hour. As soon as I calmed down, they told me to rest and gave me an assurance that they won't go anywhere.

Remembering that I have to leave for Bacolod tomorrow, I woke up and started preparing my things for tomorrow. Mama Nene soon came in and helped me pack my things.

"Mama Nene, you don't really have to help me."

"No I should to make things quick. I already asked the hotel to check you out."

"What?" I asked in shock, "But I'll leave tomo-"

"You'll stay with us in Cabintan. The kids wanted to see you one last time before leaving."

I then smiled and nodded as we packed my things. After packing, we then went out and took a ride in the jeep going to Cabintan.
