I wore a white dress with sneakers in going there. I always have the habit of wearing white during New Year's Eve. But since the only white I have with me is a white Sunday dress, I decided to wear it and pair it with sneakers. I also prepared my phone for picture taking later and let my hair down. I then wore light make-up and brought a little purse before leaving the hotel and took a transportation van going there. And after almost an hour of finding transportation, I left by two or one hour before New Year.

As I arrived, I gasped at the view. The Ruins is indeed beautiful. No wonder Mama Nene was so eager to have a photo of it. I looked around and saw people everywhere. There were families, lovers, friends, etc. I then went to its fountain and had a look at it; I even took photos of it. I then went to the ruin itself and took myself a tour. I studied the details of the ruin and imagined what it would look like when it was not yet a ruin. I bet it was a beautiful mansion.

I then went to the front face of the ruin and looked at it for a while. I was about to take out my phone and take a photo of the ruin when...

"Most people here said that this place was made out of love, like Taj Mahal." I turned when the voice was just behind me. As I turned, part of me rejoiced.

Michael.

I was on the verge of tears while he smiled, "I could remember when we were in the museum in Ormoc. Your nose was bleeding and you said 'shit'."

"Yeah." I giggled and whispered, "We were exactly like this."

"At least your nose's not bleeding anymore."

"Yeah. This time I have a wound."

"Is it fine already?"

"Somehow yeah."

"So Bacolod's your last place huh?"

I nodded, "You too. It seems."

"I heard it's an amazing place." He said as I nodded again, "I should get going."

He was about to leave. But I couldn't. Not this time. I may not deserve him but he changed me. Maybe getting him back seems so right.

"Is it true?" I asked. Then he stopped and turned to face me.

"What?"

"You went to Mama Nene and Lex before you left... And asked them... to look after me?"

"Yeah. Yeah I did."

"Why?" I asked as tears are about to roll down my cheeks.

"Because... I told you before. No hurt can't replace-"

"The way I love you." I whispered as tears rolled down.

"I couldn't leave you all alone Flo. I just couldn't. Even when I left, I made sure I have eyes and ears in Ormoc just for you. There's not a single moment that I don't think about you while coming here."

I was speechless and nothing dominated in me more than crying. I wanted him back. I wanted him in my life. He was about to leave again when I decided to speak up.

"Mike, look, I'm sorry for hurting you. I shouldn't have done that, knowing that you cared for me. I should have trusted you and not push you away. I should have kept you."

"It's okay Flo. I'll still be here no matter what. If you need me, you can ask me."

"No."

"What do you mean no?"

"No Michael. I want you back. I want you to be in my life. I want the memories of our 9 days and nights back. I want the promises fixed again. I want the love back." I said as tears rolled down nonstop. I then whispered, "Can I have you back again Mikey?"

For a long while, Michael did not answer. I then started to slowly accept the possibility that he might leave; that he may not forgive me at the moment. But in the most unexpected moment, he suddenly went near me. He then grabbed my waist, drawing me close to him while his other hand cupped my cheek and slowly wiped the tears away. He then kissed me with a warm and loving kiss. I kissed him back as I placed my hands in his chest and tears started rolling down again. Afterwards, we let go and he immediately hugged me tight, caressing my back as I hugged him back.

"I never said I'm no longer yours babe. You always have me." He said softly.

"You forgive me?"

"Of course, I'll always forgive you." We then leaned our foreheads against each other, "Just don't do the New Zealand thing."

"I just wanna tour there." I sighed.

"That's why I bought a ticket there. So that I'll be with you."

"Awesome." I whispered as we both smiled. Then the countdown began. When the clock finally struck 12, Michael and I kissed again.

"Happy New Year Flo."

"Happy New Year Mikey."

When the fireworks show started, we both took out our phones and took a picture.

"Mama Nene will love this." We both exclaimed at the same time.

"She planned this out for us, didn't she?" Michael said as we laughed, "What a wicked woman."

PS: The image shown is The Ruins in Bacolod City. It is one of the tourist destinations in Bacolod. Sadly, as I went to Bacolod last year, I wasn't able to go to this place since my brother was sick in the midst of the trip... But there's always a next time :)
