EJ had this pet peeve that his cousin thought was strange. He hated hugs. Something about them disgusted him. Pressing your body against someone. Feeling their body heat and body order with it. He only hugged one person and that was his grandma. Before she passed, he would always ask for hugs. He liked her hugs because they felt so full of love and she wore this perfume that smelled like flowers.

He was sitting in class, trying not to fall a sleep. They teacher seemed to be talking slower and slower as each minute passed. It didn't help that he had a monotone voice that made you want to chop of your ears.

EJ heard the bell ring and walked out of the classroom. He took his gym bag out of his locker and headed to his next class. He walked to the boy's locker room first so he could change for his gym class. No one used it because everyone preferred changing in the bathrooms.

He walked in and heard someone sniffling. He walked around the corner and saw Ricky in the floor, holding his body close to him.

He sat his bag on a nearby bench and walked over to him. He looked down at Ricky. Ricky peeked up and instantly stood up. His eyes were red and his cheeks were full of blush. Tears were running down his face. EJ was saddened by Ricky's state. He wanted to comfort him, but he didn't know how.

"What's wrong?" EJ asked in a soft tone. Ricky his shook his head and wiped his tears away.

EJ placed his hand on Ricky's shoulder, "What happened?" he asked.

"My parents are getting a...divorce and I don't know if it's my fault or not" Ricky said as he tried to catch his breath. EJ took in the information and wanted to hug him so badly despite his pet peeve.

"Can I have a hug?" Ricky whispered.

"Just this once" EJ whispered back and brought Ricky close to him. He held him tight and rocked them both slightly. He actually like hugging Ricky. He didn't feel closed in like he used to or didn't think Ricky had a stench. He smelled pretty good actually. He smelt like mint and some cologne that made him smell so hot.

"It's not your fault" EJ told Ricky. Ricky looked up and EJ.

"Some people just aren't meant for each other" EJ continued to say to Ricky so he would be less sad. It kind of worked. Ricky stopped crying, but he still wanted to hug. EJ didn't mind though.
