A/N: I did several drafts for this part and also Part 12, and these aren't perfect but they were my favourite from the drafts I wrote! They're both pretty short which is why I am uploading them at the same time. I hope you enjoy it!
They were so bloody cute together. Genuinely.
We watched them for a while - as corny as it sounds, they honestly looked like two lead roles from a Nicholas Sparks novel. Even though we couldn't see thier faces, we both knew they were smiling and probably having a really weird chat.
"They're just so cute," I said softly, as if I was some mother watching her kid grow up or something.
"I know, right?" said Ash. "I'm being completely serious when I say I've never seen Stef like this before."
I laughed. It was the same with Maisie. She had never been so dazed and mooned up about a boy before. Ever. All her obsessive boyband obsessions during high school were insignificant compared to her newfound obsession with Stef.
"Hey, a shooting star!" Ash suddenly said, excitedly, pointing into the sky.
Awesome! A shooting star! How movie-like! I hoped Maisie and Stef would see it too.
"Wait, that's a plane, you idiot!" I yelled, looking mock-angry.
"Really?" Ash asked, smirking.
I rolled my eyes but decided to make a wish nevertheless. I wished the same wish I always wish; I wish all wishes came true. I never knew instantly what to wish for, and saving the wish for when I would need it was always handy.
"What did you wish for?" Ash asked, cutting me out of my wishing-trance, elbowing me.
"I can't tell you," I said. "Then it won't come true!"
We weren't taking any particular route round London, but when ended up going quite into the centre of the town, where it was bubbling with nightlife.
"Aw, Ash, hey!"
We turned around and saw a sickly-thin, satsuma-coloured, bleach-blond haired stick insect with spidery eyelashes and cakey foundation. She was in the tightest, hot pink bodycon dress I had ever seen in my entire life with awful shoes which made her orange skin looked even more disgusting that it already was.
"Um..."
"Long time no see, baby," the girl slurred drunkenly, putting an orange arm round his shoulders. He grimaced slightly, turning his face away. I couldn't help to smirk, but I made sure I covered my face with my hands.
"Who's she?" she asked, narrowing her scary drawn-on eyebrows at me.
"Just -"
"Here, you," the stick insect said, her eyeballs carefully inspecting me. She was absolutely petrifying. I was aware that space invader patterned T-shirts and baggy harem pants were probably not stylish according to the stick insect. "Hands off, Ash. He's my boyfriend."
"We're not dating," I said as calmly as I could, but I knew I was shaking like a leaf. This girl was scaring the guts out of me.
God, I could really do with a wish right now.
