"ARIELLE!!! TIME TO WAKE UP HONEY!!!!! YOU HAVE SCHOOL!!!!!"

I slowly opened my eyes. My eyelids were so heavy, I had to use practically all my energy to open them all the way. Then I sat up, and a huge wave of nausea overcame me. I had a monster of a headache, my mouth hurt, and my limbs felt sore from the beating I took from Bryan at that party. I slowly got up out of bed and my head started to spin. I staggered over to my mirror and looked inside. Ugh, I looked awful. My skin was pale, I had bags under my eyes, and my hair was all messy. I opened my mouth and said, "Arista." My reflection morphed into Arista's face and she flew out of the mirror. She yawned. "Morning", she says. But she stops when she sees the state I'm in. "Wow, you look terrible", she says. I stretched my back out until I couldn't anymore. "Yeah, next time I get the idea to drink a whole bottle of alcohol without eating first, please stop me." Arista nodded quickly. "I sure will", she says. I didn't want to wear anything too revealing today so I wore very light blue ripped jeans with a black Guns N' Roses T-shirt. I put my hair in a side ponytail and pulled on a pair of black Nikes. I was accessorizing myself when Arista came from my closet.

"Okay, I have the perfect outfit for school today...", she began, but she stopped when she saw that I was already dressed. "Arielle, what are you wearing?", she says, studying my outfit. "Something comfortable", I replied. "Besides it's not all bad, I'm wearing accessories." Arista shakes her head. "But you want people to pay attention to you, don't you? You won't attract any attention wearing that." I rolled my eyes. "The last time someone 'paid attention to me', I almost died. This is fine. I look nice in it, don't I?" Arista folds her arms crossly. "Well you're not going to attract Angel that way", she says. "Angel is fine with whatever I wear", I retort, beginning to lose patience. "Geez, are all ghosts this stubborn?" Arista doesn't answer. Instead she flies over to my bed and sits down, still huffing. Whatever. I don't care. I don't have time to deal with her right now. I had to somehow hide my hangover from my mom, and get to school without crashing my car. I put all my things in my bag and get ready to leave.

"Where are you going?", Arista asks me. I stare at her. She's standing in the middle of my room. "Um, last time I checked, it's a school day, so.....naturally, I'm going to school", I tell her, turning to leave again. "Aren't you forgetting something?", she asks. I look in my knapsack. I had everything I needed. "What are you talking about?", I ask her. "Me!", Arista exclaims. I back away from her. Arista is usually more chill than this, why is she acting this way? "Um Arista, I can't take you to school today. See, I don't really need your help today because I am this close to destroying Autumn Breitbart, and I've already taken Angel, Janice and Iliana, and if she comes after me again today, I'll just threaten to spill more of her secrets", I say. "But how will you make any wishes?", Arista asks. "You can only make them unless I'm with you." I sighed. She really wasn't giving up. "Look Arista, I know how much you want to go to school with me but today is just.....not a good day. I'll bring you to school with me some other time, I promise. Now get in your mirror before someone sees you." And with that, I left my room and proceeded to get to school, trying to ignore my still pounding headache. I headed downstairs to see my mom cooking. Ugh. Just what I need. I tried to sneak out as quietly as possible, but my mom turned and saw me.

"Arielle! Hi, are you hungry?", she says. I silently cursed under my breath. "No mom, I really need to get to school", I tell her. "Well surely you have time for some cereal", she says. I gave up and sat at the counter. That's when I noticed my dad was sitting on the floor, playing with Judy. "Um, what's he still doing here?", I asked my mom, because as far as I knew, my father never played with any children, Judy no less. My mom leaned over the counter. "I know, it's weird right? For some reason, your father decided to stay longer. He'll be here for the rest of the week", she says. I stare at her in surprise. "The rest of the week?!", I say. "My father, Mr. Businessman 24/7 that has no time for his family EVER, is taking time off to stay with us?" "You don't have to sound so surprised, Arielle. Maybe your father just had a change of heart about things, that's all", she said.
