Kehlani

I grabbed my phone and called Madison. She picked up almost instantly.

"Hey" It sounded like she was moving a lot of things in the back.

"Hey, I was calling to see if you wanted to grab a coffee later? I know you must be-" She laughs and cuts me off.

"Kehlani, i'm okay. But uh yeah i'll grab a coffee with you after class, is that okay?" I replied with a simple yes. She later texted me the address.

I got ready for the day and wore a black leather jacket over a white t-shirt and some ripped black jeans.

I hear a knock at my door and let the person come in.

I see my brother walk through the door. "Nope, get the fuck out" He puts his hands up. "Let me explain" He pleads. "Bro, you got a girl fucking pregnant. You don't have shit to explain. You're a fucking cheater. I could've treated her a million times better" He scoffs. "Right, that's why you fuck every girl that comes your way Kehlani. You don't settle down"

"At least I don't get into a serious relationship, cheat for months, and break the girls heart. That's all you" I roll my eyes at him.

"I thought if I proposed, when I broke the news to her about getting a girl pregnant she'd take it easy" I'm honestly at loss of words.

"How fucking stupid can you be?" I ask honestly. "No one would forgive you for that shit. You betrayed her trust completely" I put on my shoes and open the door. "Can you talk to her for me?" Is he serious?

"No"

"Kehlani please"

"Nah i'll pass" I push him out of my room and follow behind. I walk down the stairs of my house. "Ma i'm leaving" My mom gives me a hug but doesn't even look at Jack.

"Sit down" My dad says to Jack sternly. I laugh and wave at him. There is nothing in the world that pisses my dad off more then a disrespectful man. Although, Jack wasn't a man. He was a boy.

I get in my car (she has a car down here) and type in the address that Madison gave me. I drove towards her University and park in the student parking section. I wait about 30 minutes and text her. She just got out of class.

I see her walk out, laughing with a classmate I assumed. I couldn't help but stare at her smile. I'm glad she didn't seem heartbroken. I unlock the doors and see her get inside the car. "Hi" Her enthusiastic voice just made my day 10x better.

"How was your day?" I backed out of the parking lot and started driving. "Exhausting to be honest" We laugh together and then a comfortable silence falls upon us. That was until I spoke up. "How are you feeling after the breakup?" She shrugged. She clearly didn't want to speak on the topic but I didn't want her to act alright but be breaking on the inside.

We walked into the small coffee shop and got in line. "This place is cute" She was right. It really was. The colors complimented each other so well.

"What are you gonna order?" She pointed to a mocha latte so I figured i'd get the same and try it out. It was our turn to order. "Hi, can we please get two large mocha latte's" The lady takes down our order.

"Your total is going to come out to $7.49, can we have a name for your lattes?" I pay the lady causing Madison to give me a pout. "Lani" I spoke. "I was gonna give you the money" She says sadly. "I invited you out though"

"I guesss" She's like an adorable little kid trapped in an adult body. She picked a table while I waited for our drinks. "Lani! Two mocha lattes" I walk over to the counter and pick up my order. I walk over to the seats and sit down across from her.

"How come you invited me out?" She asked. "I wanted to make sure you're okay. Get you in a positive headspace" She looks at me strangely.

"I heard what my brother did" She tensed up. Without noticing I place my hand on hers. I swear I felt a course of electricity make it's way through my body almost instantly. She looks down at our hands.

"I'm sorry he put you through that" She take a sip of her latte. "Kehlani it's okay. Stop apologizing like if you had anything to do with it"

"I do that a lot" I smile at her. "I've noticed" The sun was kind of hitting her eyes from the window we sat next too. Her hazel eyes were breathtaking.

We stayed quiet. "You think you'll start dating or look soon enough, yano for someone actually worth your time?" She chuckled. "Maybe, only time will tell"

Time will in fact tell.

I'm actually enjoying writing this book. Like a lot
