I sat down at a table in the half empty Starbucks in the mall. I had come to the mall to meet my boyfriend for a movie date. Or should I say ex-boyfriend. He said that he never wanted to see a movie, he just wanted to "talk." I guess by talk he meant break up with me. I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand, smearing my mascara. I lay my head down, burying my face in my arms. I heard someone knock on the table.

"Is this seat taken love?"

"No," I sniffled. "I was just leaving."

"No, don't. I mean, you don't have to. Stay. Talk to me."

Who is this guy? I thought. Whoever he was, he was pretty darn cute. His tight blue v-neck outlined his toned muscles, and complimented his chocolate brown eyes. "Me? Why me? I'm a mess."

"You look like you could use some cheering up. Hi, I'm Liam."

"I'm Bayleigh. But my friends call me Bay." I tried to smile, wiping the mascara streaks off of my face. "

"And why do you look so sad, Bayleigh?"

"My boyfriend made a movie date with me just so he could dump me."

"That's so horrible to hear. I'm going through a break up myself, actually."

"Really? I'm sorry to hear that."

"No, don't be. She was stuck up anyways. So, what movie were you planning to see?"

"The new James Bond movie. I didn't even get to see it. He dumped me in the parking lot."

"Let me see the tickets." He held his hand out. I pulled them out of my bag and hesitantly gave them to him. "It doesn't start for another couple of minutes. Lets go." I reluctantly went with him. He was cute, but a little forceful and over-bearing. I really wanted to see the movie, although I wanted to see it with Mike. Not a random, slightly sketchy guy I met at Starbucks. Liam insisted on buying snacks, even when I told him I didn't want anything. He made us split a large popcorn and got me and Icee. I barely touched the popcorn, although my drink was quite good. When we got out of the movie it was raining. Liam drove me home, even though I told him I was alright walking. He practically forced me to get in his car.

"So, uh, bye I guess? " I said, relieved to finally be home as I slammed the door to his black vehicle.

"Wait!" He called after me through the open passenger side window. Shit.. I turned around, the rain starting to come down harder on my back. "Can I at least have your number?" I walked back over to his car, not a dry spot on my body. I gave him my number with my teeth a chattering. After all, the rain was cold and I was in nothing but jeans and a tshirt. Liam smiled at me as he put his phone away and reached into his backseat and pulled out a blue zip-up. "Here. Put this on."

"I'm okay, really."

"Bayleigh, you're freezing. Put it on." Reluctantly I took it and put it over my wet, shaking body. I said goodbye to Liam and quickly ran inside. I threw his jacket on my couch before showering and changing into warm sweats.

When I got out of the shower I had a text from and unknown number who I assumed to be Liam. "We're going out tomorrow. Be ready by seven. Sharp."
