I changed into pajama shorts and a tshirt and went to wash my face and take off my make up. Images of Liam beating that boy flashed through my head, he just looked so angry, like he couldn't stop himself. What if he couldn't?

I climbed into my empty bed and put on some music, trying to get the images out of my head. I had been drifting off to sleep when my phone buzzed, making me jolt awake. I had a text from Liam.

"Goodnight. Xx"

And that was it.

I woke up and groggily looked at the clock on my phone. 9:36 AM. Shit! I was supposed to be at work at 9. I'm dead. My boss is going to kill me. I hurriedly put on khaki shorts and my blue work shirt. I tied up my hair and didn't even bother with make up. I sped off to work.

"Bayleigh, you're late."

"I know I overslept I am so so sorry it won't happen again."

"It better not," my boss said as I took my station at cash register 4.

My shift ended at 2, and this last hour was about to kill me. Today was slow, barely anyone was in the store. I stood at my cash register, waiting for someone to come into my line, when someone tapped on my shoulder.

"Hi, how may-Liam? How'd you know I worked here?"

"I didn't. I was coming in because I needed some more..uh...soap." Call me crazy, but I didn't believe him.

"Our bathroom supplies are to the right. Go past the electronics and go straight back."

"Thanks...I'll be back in a minute." I rang up two more customers before he came back. He got himself caught in his lie, because he came back with hand sanitizer.

"Liam, that's hand sanitizer."

"It was in the soap section." I looked behind him to see if I had a line. Of course, I didn't. I turned off the line four light, indicating that there wouldn't be any cashier in this line. "James, I'm going to help a customer."

"It's about time you did something today."

"Don't talk to her like that." Liam's muscles tensed.

"C'mon." I said calmly. "I'll show you where the soap is." I led him back to the where the soaps were, right next to the hand sanitizer. "I'll ring you up."

"When do you get off?"He asked as he swiped his credit card. I looked at the clock on the register.

"About twenty minutes."

"I'll wait." He said as he took a seat by one of our kiosks right across from my register.

Only three more people came into my line in that twenty minutes. Liam just sat there the whole time, he didn't pull out his phone or anything. He sat there. Watching me. It made me nervous, although I wasn't quiet sure why. Finally, 2 o'clock came.

"Get out of here, Bayleigh." I gathered my things and went and joined Liam. James was standing by the door to get out. Great, I thought to myself.

"I told you not to talk to her like that." Liam said as we walked past James. He stopped and stood next to him. I put my hand on his back and pushed him forward so he would continue walking. I did not want a repeat of last night.

"I don't know why you let him talk to you like that." Liam said once we were in his car. I was shocked by his words. He wasn't the kindest person to me either.

"I need this job. They're the only place that would hire me."

"I'll find you somewhere else to work."

"Where are we going?"

"Back to my place." He said, making a right turn. We pulled into a neighborhood with small, yet beautiful homes. After another left turn we pulled into Liam's driveway. "We can watch a movie. I'll make some lunch." He said as he unlocked his front door.

"Thanks, I'm starving. I have to use the washroom really quick."

"Down the hall."

At the end of the hall, there were two doors parallel to each other. I took a wild guess and opened the door on the left. Wrong. It was his supply closet, where ironically I found two bottles of the same hand soap he purchased.

"So, Liam, you needed soap?" I said with a smirk, holding the two bottles in my hand. He came out of the kitchen and walked towards me. He took the two bottles from my hand and placed them back into the closet.

"Don't touch my things."

"Sorry. I-I was just looking for the loo."

"It's this door."

"Right. Sorry."

"Don't do it again."

"Liam?" I said, returning from the restroom.

"I'm making lunch. Stay in the living room."
