Doc pulls out a contraption that appeared to be a combination of a hair dryer and a series of large knives. He was holding it aloft above a small pumpkin and smiling.
'I think I've finally done it! After many years of failure I've created a foolproof way to cut pumpkins! Now, (Y/N) stand back and, Marty, put on your sunglasses!'
He did so and you stepped back from the table. A few moments later Doc switched on the machine. It began to cut into the pumpkin, and all seemed to be well. Unfortunately a few seconds after the machines tubes hit the bottom of the pumpkin it began to shudder and spark. These sparks caused it to overload and it soon exploded in Doc's hands. Thankfully he'd been wearing gloves, so no harm was done.
'Well then!'
You laughed and wiped pumpkin slime from your face with your sleeve. Marty then stepped forward and reached under the table for the basket full of pumpkins that you'd stowed there (without Doc noticing) in anticipation of any potential mess.
'I suppose it is a good thing that we bought extras!'
