I think Chosen hasn't forgiven the animator, and is still bitter. Granted, he would have a reason for being bitter after being a slave for years, but he does not trust the animator at all. Not even a little. He thinks he's trying to gain an advantage over Second by being nice to him, but he isn't. The animator wants to make it up to Chosen, but Chosen sees any kind gestures from him as a trap of some sorts
The only reason he didn't destroy the computer after The Chosen One's Return is because whatever he'll do next is more important to him. And after that the only reason he's not destroying it now is because Second practically begged him not to
