Chapter 28

Third point of view:

Anyone who has never been to the packhouse would never believe how lively this place used to be or how everyone was happy and it is usually filled with the sound of laughter and children playing in the background. However, when pack members especially the warriors came back from finding their Luna and the Alpha of all Alphas mate, everyone was sad and scared. The atmosphere was suffocating that some of the pack members felt together chill in their spines.

Parents would whisper to their kids afraid if they said anything out loud someone from the higher-ups would hear them and they would punish them. Wolves came back with dried blood, families of these wolves who fought to bring back their Luna were scared that they wouldn't come back. However,  seeing them walking through the territory they thanked the Gods when they saw them walking back. Mates, kids and all of those ran to their partner and parent. They were happy that they are okay and back to them. They knew by having these men alive and back it means the Lunas are okay or hoping they are for the sake of the alphas.

On the other hand, down at the infirmary, it wasn't any better. The beta who finally got better was not even feeling okay, not physically but mentally. Andy was waiting for them to come back and bring the boys. However, seeing Noah broken with so many scars he could feel a huge drop. He was scared, scared for the boy and he couldn't imagine what Valdus would do to these assholes. He was about to say something or maybe help in a way but as they brought in Noah, Valdus Beta and right hand Thorn was with him, who Andy could determine or even tell what went through the Beta's head from his infamous poker face. Valdus doctor/surgeon came rushing behind them shouting to Thorn "Where is Boss? We need him to speed up his recovery" Thorn replied to the doctor but it was barely a mumble that Andy couldn't hear them with all the noises in the background.

Andy took a deep breath and waited outside wishing Noah a speedy recovery as the boy was a ray of sunshine and he is sure once all of this is over and everything is back to normal. He will be such a good or more of the perfect addition to Valdus pack. Noah is what is missing in that pack not because of the prophecy but with how he is. He is truly different. Andy will never admit but sometimes he wishes Sawyer was like Noah, but then Sawyer didn't grow up like most of the people. He didn't get the love a child should receive. His uncle sure did everything he can in his power but in the end, a child always needs two parents, a balance in someone's life. However, at the same time having parents can be the worst case, they can be toxic or they can hurt their kids. Andy took a deep breath and thought of his future with Joshua. Will they have kids, or will they adopt one? He wants a family a child who would look like Joshua. Someone who run around and make them happy but also scared because he fell or cried for no reason.

While Andy was in his deep thoughts, he suddenly could smell Joshua's smell and he knew that they were back. He was excited and happy, but then he saw Sawyer on Joshua's hand with Lucas behind him as they entered one of the rooms to start looking after Sawyer. Andy was about to get in when Joshua came out and looked at his beloved.

Andy took a deep breath and turned to Joshua as he asked: "Everything okay?" Instead of answering Joshua sat on the chair took a deep breath as he put his arm on his eyes. Andy was worried so he sat next to his mate and applied pressure on his thighs.

Joshua turned to his mate and looked at him from the corner of his eyes. He wanted to tell Andy that he saw but he knew he wasn't in the position to do so. Instead, he looked him in the eyes and said. "Everything will be okay"

Days passed since then and Sawyer could finally start feeling himself again. He unfortunately due to hunger, dehydration, and lack of nutrition didn't wake up faster and with a child in his belly which also has weakened his immune system and he couldn't  heal any faster. As for Noah, by having Valdus near him, it sped up his recovery and all the scares were gone and he was able to wake up. However, the boy was scared when he woke up, relieved that he saw Valdus and he knew that since his mate is next to him he will be okay and no one will hurt him. When he asked about Sawyer, they told him that he is still recovering and they are feeding him all the nutrition needed by the IV and the baby is okay. Noah cried when he knew the baby was okay and told Valdus who panicked when he saw Noah cried but Noah assured him that he was happy that his sacrifice didn't go to waste. Valdus was pissed but he knew not to say anything and this also made the alpha realize how amazing he will be as a Dona and as Luna. How selfless he is and how much he cares for his people.
