"Because maybe, in a way,
we didn't leave it behind nearly as much as we might once have thought.
Because somewhere underneath,
a part of us stayed like that:
fearful of the world around us,
and no matter how much
we despised ourselves for it--
unable quite to let each other go."

Kazuo Ishiguro - Never Let Me Go -

The night was merely silent. Jeongyeon's calm eyes fixed on the single white rose that she has in her hand since a few hours ago. She was there alone, on a bench accompanied by her now a cold cup of coffee. "Hey. Here's your phone. You probably want to check on that. That's quite a number of missed calls you got there. By the way, how is she?" Momo approached from behind, patting Jeongyeon's shoulder. "Same state like yesterday. The doctor said she hit her head on the ground really hard and she had a fractured hip with a brutal purplish bruise but she's stable now thank God. It's just that, they still figuring out why she's still in coma." Jeongyeon stated. Momo was muted. She didn't know how to respond hearing that from her friend. "You should go home. Take a rest. You haven't eat anything since you landed." Momo coaxed. "I'm fine. I'm not hungry. I'll wait until she woke up." Jeongyeon insisted. "I was about to go in earlier but the nurses said that her parents is here. They just landed from the States. They'll look after her, Jeong. You can come back later, and besides, you kinda smell." Momo joked. "You're a jerk you know that right?" Jeongyeon turned her head towards Momo's direction narrowing her gaze. "So I've been told. Come on let's go." Jeongyeon got up from the bench and Momo slings her arm on Jeongyeon's shoulder. The two was on their way out of the hospital but then they heard a faint calling of Momo's name. Both Momo and Jeongyeon turned their back and Momo bulged her eyes. "Sana? What are you doing here?" Momo asked but then Jeongyeon interrupted first. "I'm just gonna wait in the car." Momo nodded to acknowledge and Jeongyeon leave the two friend. "I'm here to see Nayeon of course. Wait, that's YOO Jeongyeon." Now it's Sana turn to question. "You know Nayeon? How did you know her? And yes that's Jeongyeon, Nayeon's girlfriend. Or ex. Or I don't know. But back to my question, how did you know Nayeon?" Momo was still puzzled facing the long haired blonde who's standing in front of her. "She's my cousin. The Im's daughter? She's one of the twins that I told you about the other day." Sana revealed and Momo was lost for words. She tried to comprehend the new profound facts but there's too many questions running around her head. "Nayeon's YOUR cousin? Holy shit. What a small world." Sana just shook her head, smiling at the clueless girl. "Can you ask Jeongyeon if she can drive home alone? I need to talk to you about the two of them." Momo just nodded while sticking out her phone from her pocket and texted her friend immediately. "She said she's fine driving alone. There's a bench on the other side of this block. Let's sit there." Sana respond with a nod and followed the girl.

"So all this time you knew that I'm friends with Jeongyeon? What the hell Sana! You should've told me. God I feel terrible. I have never seen Jeongyeon being that miserable over a girl." Momo scolded. "Momo be logic. We're business alliances. We didn't suddenly jump on our clients asking about their personal life. I knew your company has connections with the Yoos solely based on business purposes and I swear on my life I only knew that you're friends with Jeongyeon when we first had the lunch together after the meeting." Sana was defensive but she's still maintaining her posture being an absolute professional even in a non-formal situation. "But it doesn't matter how Jeongyeon's feeling right now. Nayeon is married with kids. She shouldn't bother." Momo huffed in annoyance. "Where does that even came from? What are you talking about? Nayeon's not married." Sana defended. Nayeon was close to being called a sister to Sana and the long haired blonde would definitely not be please and would be ready to fight if she hears anyone trying to spit pitiful facts about her cousin. "You're her cousin why you asked me? You should know better. We saw her, me and Jeongyeon. We saw her with a guy at the mall few weeks back. They have a pair of twins with them. That's why Jeong got so heartbroken and went away to the States last week. She loves Nayeon for crying out loud! The coward just doesn't want to admit it yet." Momo folds her arms reclining backwards, leaning back on the bench. "Jesus Christ Momo. I don't know how you manage a multi million company but you're still so fucking clueless." Sana almost lost her temper but still keeping herself calm. "Did you not pay attention to what I said the other day and earlier? Nayeon has a twin! The one that you both saw must be her twin sister, Seoyeon. They are absurdly identical. Maybe because of that you can't differentiate their looks. Seoyeon's the married one with the twins, not Nayeon." Momo feels like a moron. Jeongyeon and her jumped into a blunt conclusion too soon that day. I mean, who doesn't? What are the odds that someone you just know has a twin? "Cat got your tongue?" Sana's peeking through Momo's long eye lashes. Her face was clouded over. "We got to tell Jeongyeon. She's making a fool of herself." Momo was now sitting upright. "It's getting late. I bet she will be here tomorrow? I'm going to excuse myself from my uncle and aunt for a while. I can drop you off at your house if you want? Jeongyeon took your car earlier right? It's one way to mine anyway." Sana offered. "Um sure. I'll just wait for you in the lobby then." Momo replied making her way.
