PANCAKES • YOUNGJAE

you woke up to the sound of baby giggling and the smell of burnt bacon.

what did he do now? you thought.

you wrapped your silk robe around your pajamas and walked downstairs. you heard youngjae whisper something to your daughter.

"ok, daddy!" you walked into the kitchen and saw youngjae with his back turned to you while he was over the stove.

your daughter spotted you and waved and smiled. you motioned for her to be quiet so you could sneak up on him.

"do you think mommy will like it, charlie?" your daughter looked at you, asking permission to talk with her eyes. you nodded. "of course she will. we made it." she said nodding her head.

youngjae still had his back turned to as you sat on the counter. your hand fell into some pancake batter. "ew." you spoke loudly and youngjae quickly turned around.

"babe, you weren't supposed to be down here." he placed a plate down next to you.

"i smelt burnt bacon and mommy mode turned on." he chuckled as you gave him a kiss on the cheek turning to the sink to wash your hands.

"mommy, we were making you breakfast. but daddy isn't a good cook." charlie got out of her seat and walked towards you.

"trust me, i know." you picked her up and placed her on your lap, giving her a kiss.

"hey! i tried." he ruffled charlie's hair. "doesn't that matter?"

"just kidding, youngjae. you did try and now my kitchen is a mess so, clean it up." you placed charlie down and stood up, kissing your husband on the lips. "hopefully you can get the burnt smell out of everything?"

he nodded in defeat.

"it's ok. we can go out and eat." you turned around to walk out but he smacked your butt.

"choi youngjae."

he shrugged. "my hand slipped."
