Rhyannon lays awake in his king sized bed with Kent asleep next to him. He stares up at the black painted ceiling that he had pained his junior year of high school. Once again, his mind is racing back to what was supposed to be the happiest time with Kent out in Alaska. Every morning since being back in Beverly Hills, Rhyannon has lied awake, his mind racing with what happened while Kent somehow continues to sleep next to him. He's not sure how he can just lay there and sleep after the incident but maybe he's just handling it differently. Rhyannon tosses the comforter of his bed off him and gets to his feet to get dressed.
"Where are you going?" Kent sits up, not even looking tired. Has he been awake this entire time too?
"I need to find something to wear for that stupid beach bash tonight." Rhyannon answers, opening the door to his walk-in closet. There's some beach party that's going on tonight that's supposed to celebrate the start of summer or something. Apparently everyone is going to it and usually, Rhyannon would skip these types of things but he needs a distraction nowadays.
"Oh, okay." Kent says from the bed.
Rhyannon goes further into his closet until he's out of Kent's view. He leans against the wall, his arms folded across his chest as he stares ahead at the clothes hanging on the wall, wondering if the two of them will ever get back to where they were before.

Anna closes the front door to her dad's house after dropping off Bethany and Eli to school. Her brother has his license now but Anna always volunteers to still drive him places just because it's an excuse to come home and visit instead of being held up in her dorm with her slutty roommate. Plus, she wants to maintain this new relationship she has going with her dad. They've never been better, which is strange considering Anna ruined his wedding to Natalie not too long ago but it's almost like it never even happened at all.
"Oh, good." Mr. Adams is loading the dishwasher in the kitchen when Anna enters. "I was hoping to catch you before I left."
"Do you need me to do anything else?" Anna asks in hope that there's something else around here that needs her.
"Actually, I was wondering if you were planning on going to the beach bash tonight with us." Mr. Adams explains. "The whole family is going."
Anna hesitates to answer. She doesn't know what he means by 'whole family'. He could be talking about only THEIR family or he could be tagging Natalie, Josh, and Meg to that equation as well. "Um, who's going, exactly?"
"Us and Natalie's family." Mr. Adams shuts the door to the dishwasher and then searches his daughter's face. "I know that you and Meg haven't been on the best of terms since the wedding but do you guys think you could make it work for the night?"
"It'll be a little awkward." Anna declares, thinking about it. Sure, she and Meg thought they were going to be together forever and that nothing was going to stand in their way- not even their parents. But, things changed and they're not even on speaking terms. Their streak on Snapchat even ended. But, the more Anna thinks about it the more she wants to make things work with Meg so they can be somehow civil for Mr. Adams and Natalie. If those two do end up marrying down the road, they're going to become step sisters so Anna might as well just prepare herself for it all now. "But, I'll try to make things work."

Holland stares at his naked body in the mirror of his bathroom after getting out of the shower that same morning. He has officially finished his sophomore year and he SHOULD be happy about it. He should be looking forward to his junior year and continuing to move through high school but his life couldn't be more screwed right about now. After JC found that lump on his penis, they stopped doing what they were doing and just sat on the couch for a while before JC finally left. Holland knows what this could be but he's just been too afraid to say the words aloud. This is the last thing he needs in his life, especially because he just watched his mom's boyfriend die.
Holland looks down at the scale on the floor and takes a deep breath before stepping up onto it. He closes his eyes, knowing that extreme weight loss is another symptom. His eyes stare at his body in the mirror in front of him. His rib cage is showing through his skin and his sides look almost paper thin. He's never seen himself look so unhealthy before in his entire life.
Holland stays still for a few long seconds, afraid to even look down at that lump on his junk. He hasn't even looked at is since JC pointed it out. It makes him sick to his stomach even thinking about it. Holland looks down at the number on the digital scale he's standing on, his stomach sinking deep at how low the number dropped since the last time he weighted himself. It's happening.
