Lazuli

Yggdrasil is a huge ash tree located at the centre of this earth, with three roots, one extending to the land of the underworld, one to the land of giants, and one to the land of the gods. There were two realms separating the mortals from the immortals, humans and other species live in the Mortal Realm.

All the things we see in this realm is our reality, we aren't allowed to cross the other realms which can access the three roots of Yggdrasil. The soul can travel along the roots, but no mortal has ever crossed the bridge.

That tree has been the core of this world, and some say that the Gods had created protectors in order to keep the world balanced.

In this world, the oldest species that existed were the Dragons. This was their fatherland, and we were just living under their privilege. Not everyone understands this though, other species claimed Yggdrasil as theirs, and defied the Dragons foolishly. But there's a reason why they are the most superior beings in this world, they have been protectors of Yggdrasil for eons, and ruled over all supernaturals.

However, when the Four Kingdoms united to eradicate all Dragons, the Gods became furious. Upon their victory on the war, one god had descended on the Mortal Realm, He alone destroyed every traitors of this world, putting an end to the greedy Four Kingdoms. He was the God of War, the symbol of the Dragons.

Soon after He punished the betrayers, He said to the Mortals;

"Heed my word, mortals, my seed will end this realm. And he shall go forth, and set the world on fire."

After His message, He left the Mortal Realm, never to be seen again. This became a myth to everyone in Yggdrasil. Until the Targaryens came.

The era of the Targaryen Dragons awoken from their slumber centuries ago. Their history was written vaguely, but from what I've read, there's a prophecy that their bloodline came from an ancient god, and that god will be birthed in this world. It became clear that this prophesied child will become the God of Yggdrasil. But another oracle had been received by the Church, and the people's worst fears came to life when the prophesied child was said to be God of War.

This only gives reference to the old text where the God of War gives birth to His next descendant. His warning had came to life, which means He must've felt the rising anger of a new enemy.

The prophecy was the reason why every time the Aragon Empire birthed their children, they lock them inside the Iron Tower for protection. Endless hoards of enemies will come for that prophesied child, and would want the power for themselves. That's why the tower was created for that purpose only.

A loud thud came from the shelf next to me. I look up from the book, hearing light footsteps. I see a maid uniform pass by in my view, it must be the servants dusting the library.

"Our young miss sure is studious, she must miss her friends at the academy." One began gossiping.

"I know, it's so adorable. But perhaps it's for the best she doesn't leave the duchy, it's a mess out there." This peaked my interest.

The maid sighed, picking up the book that fell on the floor, "I heard that the Crown Prince couldn't get out. The Duke must be trying his best to help him out."

"That means the rumours must be true!" She said in a loud hushed tone.

"Gods, have mercy on us all. The people are making fool of themselves, to disrespect an almighty being."

I cleared me throat, making them jump in fright. They looked around in confusion, until they saw me through the shelf.

Their eyes widened, "My lady!"
