Lazuli"Father," I sighed, "what is this?"
The Duke had knocked before he entered my study. He was followed by his secretary and butler, along with a tall handsome man and a petite woman wearing a maid uniform.
It's been two days since my visit at the Church, he extended my break from the academy and gave me my own study within the manor. I haven't heard from him for the past two days, but I was informed he was called by the Royal Court and the King himself.
"How is my little one?" Ignoring my question, he approached my small form sitting on the floor, right next to the large stacks of books.
I crossed my arms, "Fantastic."
He kneeled down and kissed the crown of my head, "That's good. I just came from the Castle today. Let me introduce to you your attendants."
"My attendants," I raised an eyebrow.
I stood up from the floor when he gestured them to come near. The tall man was pretty handsome, he was built like a real soldier, a sight that brings nostalgia to me. He had red hair and black eyes, and he had a scar on his neck. His age must be between 20 to 28.
"This is Sir Amir, an Elite Knight from the 1st Order, Sunstone. He will be your night from this day on forward."
My eyes widen, surprised at the new information. "What do you mean, father? Why give me a knight?"
"Little one, I have long thought about assigning a personal knight for you. Now that you've been given a blessed name, word about you has spread which means danger will come."
Ah yes, blessed names are a rarity. It's known that heroes are blessed with gifts, those gifts can either be power or a simple blessing. In my case, word has spread that the Goddess of Fate had blessed me with a name, this name symbolised a strong bond between me and the Goddess. I could change anyone's fate if I will it, based on my understanding.
This power can be misused, that's why I have to be protected. "I understand," I nodded. What else can I do, really? The power in my name will attract greedy people, at least they don't know I'm technically a Demigod now.
The knight stepped forward, then suddenly, he kneeled before me. "I am at your eternal service, Lady Lazuli Almas Fahd la Monique."
"I am honoured, Sir Amir. Please raise your head, you may address me as Lazuli," I raise my dress a little, bowing down in respect.
"Of course, Lady Lazuli."
I smiled, "Just Lazuli."
"I'm afraid I mustn't, my lady."
Never mind then.
"This is Canalise Lopez, a servant that's been sent by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, from the Serpentine Guild."
The petite woman nervously stepped up, bowing shyly while peeking at me and looking away quickly. "I- I am at your eternal service, m- my lady."
From the Queen? Interesting. She must be a spy then, considering all servants that are trained by the Serpentine Guild are born assassins.
"My Queen sends a message, my lady," the maid says, fidgeting slightly, "her majesty wishes to support you in your future. So please let me serve you with good will."
As far as I know, the Queen isn't really a bad guy. In the book, she was the one that approached the protagonist for his impudence. Rejecting me as his soulmate, that had angered her, which is why the protagonist had fought with her - he almost died after being attacked by the Queen. In the end, she showed him mercy, cursing him for life. That curse must've affected him pretty bad, because the one he loved ran away with someone else.
