LazuliAfter my parents departed to their journey, I sent away Canalise to join them.
The Regional Meeting is the gathering of all great leaders of Yggdrasil. From small tribes to big Empires, they go all to one place for one purpose only - discussing international crisis; the calamity.
In this world, we all have one common enemy, Demon Lords.
Demon lords, also known as Abyssal lords, are archfiends who gained great power and established a position of preeminence among demonkind. Over millennia, these demons have amassed tremendous power and authority over their domain.
They feed over mankind and cause havoc across the globe using their gate device that creates a bridge between the Underworld and the Mortal Realms; this is the Calamity.
Calamities can happen anywhere. No one knows when or where they arrive, it's said that the last Calamity occurred on the Eastern kingdoms. Their attack had killed 10,000 victims, and after their gates closed, they run off to find the nearest dungeon.
This is gonna be one of the conflicts that the protagonist will face soon in the future. Nobody knows this, but the next Calamity will open over the desert mountains of the Salian Kingdom, and this time, a real Demon Lord arrives. It will happen in a few years, specifically 5 years from now. The protagonist had singlehandedly defeated the Calamity, but his battle with the Demon Lord caused a great loss of energy. Hence, he'll go into coma after the battle.
The book didn't put too much detail on the calamity, I've only known three calamities that'll arrive; the one in Salian Kingdom, the one in the Western region, and the one in Iceland. I have to prevent the death of innocent lives, and I'll begin with the Salian Kingdom.
In the Regional Meetings, they'll be discussing alliances. It's possible that some will approach my parents for my hand, but I had told my father to reject it all.
I did tell him about a certain Bear tribe called the Titans, these people will be a victim to the Calamity that'll happen in Iceland. I want to help as much, since in the book, these people had once helped the protagonist from dying using their miracle flowers; it's foolish to return a favour that never happened yet, but still.
I was currently inside my study today, writing on my journal about a few objectives I have to oversee, when a knock came from the door.
"Pardon me, my lady. But a visitor has come to see you," Sir Amir said through the door.
"An uninvited guest," I murmured, "very well."
I stood up from my chair, the door was opened by Sir Amir. My father's butler was waiting beside my knight, bowing at me.
"Lady Lazuli, it appears Lord Alas, first son of Count Wellington, has come to visit young miss."
"Did he say what he wanted?" I asked, walking forward and making my way to the lounge.
"I'm afraid not my lady."
I have a hunch as to why he came. A few weeks ago, his youngest brother, who's the same age as I was now, challenged me on a duel. I, of course, declined. But he got angry about it, so he attacked me while I was in my classes.
The principal had suspended him for that, and so far I haven't received a single word from that kid again. Now, his older brother, the next head to their County, suddenly visits after weeks of radio silence.
What does a 20 year old want with a 10 year old?
Entering the lounge, the maids open the door for me. When I catch sight of the young lord, I was shocked to see a freaking leopard sitting next to the couch.
