I had a dream today,
Basking in sun
I saw the future
The little girl grew and grew and grew
Became young
The dreams worn out
But the smile still tight
The beam of crazy light flashing
Through her
But the soul still fights
Blue yellow and neon everywhere
She sits on the lone chair
Fighting the vibe in the air
The dress she had on earlier
Is battered into pieces
Her face once caked with makeup
Is smudged out of it's place
Her nails still carry the pieces;
Tints of the clothes
She shred,
To become what she was before.I had a dream today,
In the chilling wind
There sat the man
With no heart within
The passer by passed away
No one bothered to make a stop
To provide the warmth
That a smile did to him
That one smile he waited for
Was the little girl from the side
The only soul he saw
Was in the girl of nine
Today he heard
She died;
Was sick when she passed by
Giving him smile
When she cried at night
Clutched her blanket
And hoped for a light
Yet she smiled
At the poor man
On the street
In hopes of giving the relief
That she couldn't achieveI had a dream today,
Of a day in spring
Where the girl
Who went to clubs
Is now cleaning the wings
Left the cold job
And making a life
She smiled at the man who
Just passed by
The man stands up
And holds the door for her
As she crosses the threshold
With her cleaning supply.
The man smiles back
As he corrects his jacket
On his first day of job
As a valet of same building
He sat on the side before.
