CHAPTER NINE

           RACE TO THE FINISH

Back in the Royal palace of Cordonia.
Kinaumagahan sa Royal Regatta nag almusal siya kasama si Maxwell at Bertrand.

A short time later.
Dumating na sila sa Marina kung saan makikita ang Grandiose.

" This is great! The weather is perfect." Ani Maxwell. " Yeah... Sun's out, funs out..." Aniya.

" All right that's enough of the two of you. Keep your wits about you." Ani Bertrand sa knila ni Maxwell. Kahit Kailan talaga panira ng moment si Bertrand.

" Lady Samantha you must always remains that in the venue around like this a photo can taken at anytime." Paalala ni Bertrand sa kanya.

" Got it, were close, but not too close." Aniya kay Bertrand.

" As they walk off Liam runs up to her.

" My Lady... Fancy seeing you here. " It must strange that we keep showing up at the same event." Ani Liam sa kanya ng makasalubong siya nito.    ." fate must be on our side.Hopefully it'll favor me during my race today. Aniya.

"  Ah yes, the ceremonial race. It's an honor to be part of the Regatta tradition. " Ani Liam.
"The tradition of rich people having private boat?" Tanong niya dito. Marami pa itong sinabi tungkol sa regatta tinanguan niya na lang ito.
" Now tell the truth. Are you enjoying yourself?" Tanong niya kay Liam.

" Yeah, specially when im with you." Sagot ni Liam.
" Im happy to hear that." Aniya dito.

" We'll..." Ani Liam. Naputol ang sasabihin nito ng magsalita ang Hari tungkol sa early retirement nito.

" Liam, Are you okay?" Tanong niya rito ng makitang namumutla ito.
" Yeah, im fine but it's...... shock, let's say, I always knew my father would retire just not so soon. To realized that im going to become a king in a matter of weeks." Ani Liam sa kanya.
" Liam.......Hindi lahat ng tao may kakayahang maging hari at mamili ng mapapangasawa nila.." sabi niya dito.

" It means that my future bride will be thrown directly into the role of a queen." Ani liam sa kanya.
" It's seems like this really caught you off guard." Sabi niya dito.
" My father usually keeps my counsil of all matters i wonder why he didn't discuss this with me." Ani Liam.

Liam....." Aniya at hinawaka ito sa balikat
" We should answer a couple of answer them to put our best smile." Sabi nito sa kanya na ang tinutukoy na ang mga reporter na palapit sa kanila.
" No can do" i only reserve my best smile for you." Pilyo niyang sabi niya dito.
" At least give them half of your best smile." Bulong nito sa kanya ng mapansing nasa harap na nila ang mga reporter.

" Your Highness a few questions please." Sabi ng isang reporter kay Liam.
" Of course." Sagot nito sa reporter.
" The king announcement was a quiet surprise. What do you think about it? When do you find out?" Sunod sunod na tanong ng reporter kay Liam.
" As much as I'd love to answer but now i can't comment." Sagot ni Liam sa reporter.

" If you can't talk about the announcement. Then we ask something else." Sabi ng reporter kay Liam.
". Your Highness, Your looking awfully friendly with the mystery woman?......"tanong ng reporter na ang tinutukoy ay siya.
" Is that what they're calling to Lady Samantha? Tanong ni liam sa reporter.
" The public does find her enigma." Sagot ng reporter.". What's the connection between you two? After all the social season more than half and over and with the king announcement you will choosing a future Queen in a matter of week now." Tanong ng reporter.
" I was aware my future bride would be a queen. The immediacy of my becoming king doesn't change much at this time." Sagot ni Liam sa reporter. Marami pang tanong ang reporter about sa palasyo na nasagot naman ng tama ni Liam.

" You want to know what's going on between the prince and me." Sabi niya sa reporter na nakangiti. Bumaling ang pansin ng reporter sa kanya.
" Well i care for him and were getting to know each other." Sabi niya sa reporter at tiningnan si Liam.
" I couldn't have put it better myself." Bulong nito sa kanya.

" Do you feel the same way about lady Samantha, your Highness? Tanong ng reporter kay liam.
". Yes i care for her. But as she said, we're still learning about one another." Sagot ni Liam. Bago pa magtatanong ang mga reporter ulit. Hinawakan ni Liam ang kamay niya pero ang mga reporter nagsalita pa.

" Can we get photo of you together, your Highness." Sabi ng reporter.
" Of course." Sagot ni Liam. Mr. Brine raised his camera. Bago pa mg shot ang camera hinalikan niya si Liam sa pisngi.

..........." "(Liam). Hindi ito nakapagsalita at  Nakatulala lang ito.
" Perfect." Sabi ng reporter.

........."(Samantha)
" Thank you, your Highness, Lady Samantha. It's been an absolute pleasure." Sabi ng reporter sa kanila.
" Of course." Sagot ni Liam.

" I think that went well." Sabi nito sa kanya ng makaalis ang reporter.
" Oh.." aniya. Kahit siya ay nagulat sa ginawa.
" I can tell by now when they like someone. I'm glad the people take their cues from the press. Halika na at magsimula na ang paligsahan." Sabi ni Liam sa kanya at hinawakan ang kamay at iginiya sa bulwagan ng makita si Maxwell .

" Sam, over here." Tawag ni Maxwell na kumakaway pa sa kanya.
" Your ride awaits." Sabi ni Liam sa kanya.
" Your not coming with me? ." Saad niya kay Liam.
" I wish i could but my place is with the king . Dont worry i can watch you from there." Ani liam sa kanya.
" Goodluck." Sabi nito sa kanya at hinalikan ang noo niya. Tumango siya dito at nilapitan si Maxwell.
