Ivo was driving them to a remote spot in the woods. He glanced over at Aban, hoping that this would be enough to please him. If it wasn't, he didn't have much hope on the future of their relationship.
Once they reached a clearing, Robotnik parked the car. He took a deep breath. The doctor felt Stone's hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, it'll be okay," the agent smiled reassuringly."It's most likely this date will go well," Ivo spoke with confidence, although he felt like a fool.
The two stepped out of the car. The sun was setting it was clear that the doctor was getting a bit anxious. He went to grab a cooler from the trunk. He had too many thoughts running through his head. What if he messes up? What if the food in the cooler somehow spoiled? What if Aban didn't want the food he put together? What if--
"The sun set is really pretty," Stone spoke gently as he stared above the lake and into the sky.
Ivo closed the trunk and moved it towards his boyfriend.
"I suppose so." Ivo didn't take much time to appreciate the other things in life other than his work. He had always felt that they were meaningless. The sunset was pretty, but he knew that was not going to be the main selling point. "Are you hungry?"
Stone turned towards him. He nodded.
Ivo went to grab the blanket for them to sit on while they ate their food. Once it was laid, it was time to serve. He grabbed some apple slices, grapes, cantaloupe slices, and a small bin of muffins. He set them down and looked to see Aban's facial expressions to see if it was okay. The other man seemed impressed.
"This looks amazing!" Stone smiled at the doctor. He went to eat some apple slices. Ivo himself took the cantaloupe and began to eat it. The agent leaned on Ivo, making his face go a light pink.
The sun was gone now. They had finished their meal. Now was the time for the real show. Something lit up in the sky and shot across it."Whoa, was that shooting star?"
"No," Ivo said blandly, "that was a comet."
Little did that agent know, it was about to get better.Suddenly, the sky lit up with shooting stars. Ivo kept his gaze on Stone, wanting to see his reaction.
"Oh..wow. This is a sight, huh?"
"It sure is," Ivo mumbled as he held Aban closer. He had felt a lot in his stomach. Either he was right, the food had spoiled, or it was something else entirely. He figured it was like that saying 'butterflies in the stomach' kind of thing. All that he knew was he really wanted to kiss Aban. He refrained. He didn't want to go too fast.Stone looked at Robotnik, surprised that the doctor was looking at him.
"You're not even going to watch this?" Stone rose a brow.Ivo quickly went to look up at the sky. "It is...quite the sight."
Stone leaned on him more. The two continued watching the sky. It went better than Robotnik had thought.
