Y/N POV
After my audition with Paul and Blake, I called my best friend, Cameron.
"Hey! How did it go?" She asked excitedly. I smiled to myself, thinking about the amazing experience I had just had.
"It was amazing! Blake was there and she was so sweet and cute and funny and hot and just-ugh. She's perfect."
"That's awesome girl! Do you think you got the part?"
"I'm not sure. Blake told me to be on the look out for a call from the studio, but I don't want to get my hopes up you know?"
"Yeah, I totally get that. But hey! You just had an awesome experience and met your longtime crush! We need to celebrate! I'm coming over and we are going out!"
I laughed at my best friends antics. "Alright, but can we order in and watch movies? I don't really feel like going out." I was too distracted with thoughts of Blake and my anxiety about getting the part wasn't really helping.
"Sure! I'm bringing ice creaaaaammm!"
"Alright, see you in a bit Cam."
"Byeeeee."
I laughed and hung up, climbing into my car and driving to my apartment in downtown.
I parked in my spot in the car garage and headed to the elevator. I lived on the 5th floor. My apartment was very modest. It had one bedroom, one bathroom, a balcony, and a conjoined living room and kitchen.
It wasn't like I could afford much. Thankfully I got into Yale with a full ride for acting so I had no student loans, but I didn't exactly come from a wealthy family. We weren't even middle class. I'm lucky to even have this place, let alone in Burbank.
I got off when the elevator stopped and walked down the hallway. I reached my apartment and unlocked it, going inside and closing the door behind me.
I sighed, dropping by bag by the door and slipping my shoes off. I hit the light switch and my apartment lit up.
"Home sweet home." I sighed, walking to the kitchen and getting out some wine and two glasses. Cameron would be here any minute.
Just as I took a sip of my wine, a knock sounded at my door. "Coming!" I called, padding over to the door with my bare feet. I checked through the peephole, just to make sure it was Cameron, before I let her in.
We greet each other with hugs before I closed the door. We walked to the kitchen and I poured her some wine. "Okay. Tell me everything. How was Blake? Was she nice? Is she hot in person? Did you see it?" Cameron began to bombard me with questions.
"Cameron."
"Is she a good scene partner? Did she seem interested in you? Was there any-"
"CAMERON!" I said loudly, interrupting her ramble.
"Yes?"
"Just calm down and I'll tell you what happened. Let me order pizza first though."
"Ugh fine. But hurry! I want all the details!" Cameron called as she walked over to my couch and sat down. I chuckled, rolling my eyes as I dialed the pizza places number.
After I ordered, I sat down on the couch near Cameron and turned on the Real House Wives so we had some background noise.
"Okay spill!" I sighed and told her the story. Minus the parts about me getting turned on.
"She sounds awesome! Oh my god I'm so happy for you!"
"Thanks Cam but I may not have even gotten the part and I don't want to get my hopes up." I had been disappointed too many times in my life to know to not know the dangers of hope.
I had hoped for years now my dad would come back. That still hasn't happened. I hoped for years I would get friends. That didn't happen either. All I had was Cameron. She's really the only friend I have. Besides my mom of course, but she lived states away.
Cameron knows about my past and my struggles. I was grateful to at least have one person I could trust.
"I know Y/N, but whether you get it or not, you met Blake Livley! Not only that, but Blake and Paul now know you exist! Maybe you're not right for this movie, which I doubt, but you may be right for a future movie and they could call you up! You just don't really know."
I nodded, thinking about her words. "Yeah, I guess. Just-well...let's say I do get casted...what if they decided they don't want me? I get fired and they recast for my part and Blake hates me and I'm not a good actor and-"
"Y/N! You're freaking yourself out again! Stop over thinking! You just had an amazing audition. Focus on that! Don't think about all the things that could go wrong. Focus on what's going right in this moment."
I took a few deep breathes, calming myself down. "You're right. Thanks."
She smiled. "Always."
"How was your day?" I asked, wanting to distract myself from my anxiety.
"It was good. I'm really liking working there." Cameron was an assistant to one of the biggest fashion designers in LA. She worked side by side the people who design Gucci's new line. Her dream is to be a designer.
"How's your boss?"
"Antonio? He's wonderful. So sweet. The man is honestly a genius. I learn so much working with him."
I smiled, happy for my best friend. "That's really great Cam. I'm so proud of you."
"Thanks."
We spent the rest of the evening eating ice cream and pizza while drinking wine and watching stupid TV shows.
Both of us fell asleep around 11. Thankfully it was Friday so we didn't have to work tomorrow.
I dreamed of Blake and couldn't help but feel a sense of longing. What I would give to be able to have a relationship with her.
