Y/N POV
I smiled and blushed, hoping she was saying hi to me. Everyone, not sensing any of the tension at all moved to greet her.
She said hello to everyone and it was kind of obvious she knew all these people already.
I kind of just sat awkwardly, reading my script in my seat. I jumped slightly when a smooth voice spoke softly close to my ear. "May I sit here?" I turned to see Blake, a cute smile on her face. I smile and nodded.
She chuckled and pulled out the chair on my right and sat down. As everyone returned to their seats she turned to me.
"How are you this morning Y/N?" She asked me. It was so casual and yet it made my heart race.
"Me? Uh- I..I'm good. H-how are you?" I mentally screamed at myself for being so awkward and nervous.
Blake didn't really seem to mind though which made me feel a little better and helped to ease my ever growing social anxiety.
"I'm good, glad to finally be off the freeway and here." She chuckled and I smiled.
"Yeah the LA traffic is horrid." I say, managing to gain a bit of confidence in order to keep the conversation with her going.
Blake was about to respond but Paul started to give everyone the run down of what we would be doing today so our conversation was put on hold.
"So today, all we are doing is a script read through, answer any questions, and just spend time together. Tomorrow we will be looking at costumes for each of you. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday we will just do more read through and you guys should memorize your lines. Please have the memorized before next week, because on Monday we have our first day on set and will go over the logistics of everything in general, but as soon as we start filming in Tuesday, we'll go more in depth into the break down of each scene we film. Everyone understand?"
We all nodded. "Great! Let's start this table read!"
Everything seemed to be going really well. We hadn't been interrupted yet so I'm assuming we were doing well.
We seemed to be about halfway through the script right now, and I was really enjoying doing my scenes with Blake.
"Oh baby you just need someone to love you." She said, reading her line.
"I have you...all you need is a good friend." I responded. All of these lines were new to me considering this was the first time I was reading the script.
"Oh don't you miss sex? Having a man fuck you on top of a washing machine?" She asked incredulously.
"Eh..I barely remember what it's like."
"Oh why are you such a masochistic. You could have a man in your bed, anytime you want." I noticed while watching Blake deliver her line, that we were starting to make more eye contact as we said our lines. Our bodies seemed to be turning to face each other more.
"I had a man, I ruined that so-"
"What does that mean?" She asked, amused and slightly puzzled.
I waived her off a bit. "Come on, what does that mean?" Her tone frustrated at my lack of reply.
"No-" I mumbled.
"If you can't tell me, y-you can't tell anyone. I'm your best friend."
I sighed. Really not wanting to go into it. I told her the truth though. I was surprised when reading my lines at the horrible thing my character had to experience.
A/N the video above skips over the story, but basically a fight broke out between her husband and step brother because her husband found out she slept with him, so her husband begins to question if their son is really his. The step brother takes him for a drive so they can talk "man to man" and they get into a car crash and both die.
"I'm the reason they'r both dead."
"No. Hey, don't do that. People do things for their own fucked up reasons. That's on them. It's not on you." Blake's voice started to become more of a whisper as we were completely facing each other now, fully immersed in the scene.
"I miss him." My voice coming out unexpectedly shaky.
"Which one?" Blake asks, gazing into my eyes.
"Both..I-" I took a deep breath, trying to calm down a bit. "I feel..lonely." I choked out.
"I think loneliness probably kills more people than cancer." I practically whisper as my voice breaks a bit.
"Hey, cmere.." Blake says as she leans even closer to me, gently putting my hair back behind my ear. I try to force a smile.
"Cmere."
"I'm going to stop you guys there for a second." Paul said, causing us to pull away slightly from one another and turn to him.
"First off, I just want to say wow. You guys are just reading the script for the first time and it seems you both already have this amazing chemistry. You guys both clearly resonate well with the characters and the actions you are taking to enhance the scene are great. So I stopped you guys here because right after Blake's line, that "Cmere", there is a kiss shared between the two of you."
My whole body tensed. Excuse me. Did he just say what I think he said. My ears must be broken there is no way he just said that. Do I get to kiss Blake Livley?
"Now the kiss can be however long you feel it should be, try to make it more than a peck but less than a full on make-out session."
I was in a daze, barely comprehending what Paul was saying. "You guys don't need to do it right now, we can save that for filming, but I would suggest, if you would like, to spend some time with each other outside of set and just get to know one another. That will help to add a sense of comfort to the kiss.
Blake nodded next to me like it was no big deal, mean while I was sitting next to her, freaking the fuck out. I need some floss STAT.
"Okay let's finish this read and then we will talk about it a bit and then you guys are free to go."
We all nodded before going back to the scene.
I was still in kind of a daze, but I had to power through. We skipped the kiss and just did the lines straight after.
"You're okay." Blake said, a small smile on her lips. "Wanna order pizza?"
I chuckled awkwardly. "God I'm so embarrassed."
"Oh 'cause of that? No..hey, it's all good baby." Blake said, laughing slightly. I couldn't help but love the way the name rolled off her tongue. God what I would give for her to call me baby.
"It's all good, just another Tuesday."
