Ricky's POV:

The rest of the dinner was spent making jokes and trying to convince Natalie to join us on our future tours. It felt normal, having her at the table, talking with us. It was like she never left, like we never broke up, like she never chased after Chris. I missed it. I missed her. She caught me looking at her and I watched her cheeks turn a light shade of red as she quickly looked away. I pulled my phone out and started to text her.

-Why do you look away from me?-

~Because it makes me feel weird~

-Yeah well, stop looking away, you adorable little shit!~

I sent her the message and watched her chuckle as she read it. Suddenly our eyes met and neither one of us made the effort to look away. It wasn't until Chris let out an obnoxious cough that we looked away. I gazed at my best friend and shot him a questioning look.

"What," he asked. "It's not my fault I don't want to watch you two be all lovey dovey and shit."

I continued to give him the same look of disbelief. "Stop being a jealous prick."

"I am not jealous," he muttered as he crossed his arms over his chest. "Didn't you ever learn that PDA is not okay?"

I let out a rough laugh before taking a sip of my coke in front of me. When I sat the glass down I focused my gaze back on Talie, taking due notice that she had started talking to Sabrina, and laughing. I looked back at Chris and saw that he had a look of horror on his face as he watched the same thing I did.

"So where did you guys meet," Sabrina asked with a large smile on her face. I couldn't tell if the question was directed at me or Talie so I stayed quiet.

Talie giggled and took a sip of what looked like a mojito before winking at me. "He saved my life at Starbucks," she chuckled. "I was having a shitty day because I had just got out of a not so good relationship and he payed for my coffee. It was really sweet."

"Yeah, I'd seen her around and knew what she looked like when she was happy," I added. "And that day, she did not look happy."

Sabrina smiled and looked over at Chris briefly before turning back to Talie. "That's actually really cute. I can't believe Sarah let me think you were the bad guy!"

"Oh shit," I heard Chris mutter.

Talie's smile faded and she set her drink down on the table. "Sarah made you think I was what?"

"Well she said that you stole Ricky from her and that if I didn't watch my back you'd steal Chris as well. She also said that you're the reason Chris found it so difficult to trust me or any other woman," Sabrina muttered sadly. "She made you seem like the mean high school cheerleader that made everyone's life hell."

"Oh," Talie whispered. "Well, I guess she's not wrong."

"Talie," I started.

She shook her head at me, telling me not to speak. "It's fine. I mean, I technically did steal Ricky from her... today. And yeah, maybe I caused some of Chris' trust issues, but really it should be me that has the issue. But it's cool, because I'm not going to feel guilty about something that happened years ago and I'm not going to feel guilty about being with Ricky."

"I'll drink to that," Ryan chuckled, breaking the tension.

I watched Talie and him clank glasses before they both slammed back whatever they were drinking. I pulled out my pack of cigarettes and got up, motioning for Talie to join me. She did. We walked out and I leaned against the brick building. I lit one up and took a deep breath before pulling Talie to stand between my legs.
