10 Months Later:
"So tell me about him," my best friend and boss, Angelo poked.
I smiled and shook my head. "I can't, Ange. I've only been with him for 6 months!"
"Yeah okay, see, usually when a girl dates someone for that long, her best friend knows about him," Ange laughed. "So come on, let's see him!"
I sighed in defeat and pulled my phone out to show him the lock screen. There we were, Ricky and I, on Halloween, dressed to the nines. "That's him, Ange. His name is-"
"Ricky," Angelo finished for me.
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion and put my phone away. "You know him?"
"I knew him," he corrected. "We use to be in the same band."
"Motion-"
"Less In White, yupp," he finished again. "I quit about a year ago because I wasn't happy."
I folded my arms across my chest and gave him a sad smile. "I didn't even know you were in a band, Ange. Why didn't you tell me? You could have set us up sooner!"
He chuckled and wrapped his arms around me. "You've never heard of Motionless? I thought you were just being polite and never bringing it up."
"Nope," I said as I walked to the counter to check various appointment times. "I didn't have a clue there was even a band called Motionless In White."
"So have you met the rest of the guys?"
I shook my head and turned to face him, biting my lower lip. "I meet them tonight at one of their shows and I'm seriously freaking out. They're his best friends and I want to make a good impression. I don't know what they look like or anything."
"They all look like Ricky. Except Ghost, he's always changing," he chuckled. "You'll be fine," he added when I showed more confusion. "Just tell them you like The Smiths, The Misfits, Bleeding Through and all that dark, emo crap you listen to."
I smiled and grabbed my bag before flipping the sign on the shop to 'Closed.' "I've got to head out. I told Ricky he could pick me up at 6."
"Hey, do you think I could tag along with you guys tonight? I haven't seen them in awhile," Ange asked as he looked down at his shoes.
I nodded and handed him his messenger bag before holding the door open for him. "Come on then!"
He laughed and locked the door behind us before heading to his car. Ange has been a good friend of mine for about a year. He gave me a job when I was fresh out of an abusive relationship and had no where to go. He trained me to be a better artist and eventually let me have my own clients. He told me that he'd been in a bad place at some point too and that everyone deserves a chance.
Ange drove me home and phoned Kelly to let her know that he wouldn't be home because he was going out with me and catching up with a few friends. She was fine with it, of course. She knew that I was no threat to her and Angelo.
Once we were home I ran upstairs to change my clothes, I wanted to look good when I meet all of his friends. I thew on a high waisted black skirt with my 99 Problems white jersey crop top. I changed my stockings and put my black creepers on before changing my plugs and putting on my raven chocker from Ricky. I placed a beanie on top of my platinum blonde, almost silver, hair and grabbed my sunglasses before doing my make up.
The doorbell rang while I was getting ready and I instantly stopped to listen in on the conversation downstairs.
"An-Angelo," I heard Ricky's voice ask in surprise. "What are you doing here?"
