"Do I look okay?" I asked him adjusting my skirt and my hair.
"Aleena, I still don't think it's a good idea" He said holding my hand.
I boldly walked inside his house. He had a huge lush green, perfectly even lawn with all sorts of flowers. Purple tulips and red hibiscus. Flower shaped lamps gave out a shimmering light and it looked beautiful. Also, he had a guava and a mango tree.
He held my hand gently and smiled. It would be my first appearance before his parents. We ascended a couple of steps, his house was made of white marble on the outside. He knocked on a wooden door.
I was nervous but I took a breathe. A pretty lady dressed in a saree opened the door. She had long brown hair and deep brown eyes. A fair complexion. She was too skinny.
She smiled warmly at the sight of me.
"Namaste Aunty..." I said in a proper Indian gesture like we fold our hands together. She gave us way and we stepped in.
"Mom, Aleena. Aleena, mom" He said and smiled.
"Aww she's so adorable. Come here baby..." She pulled me into a hug. I could already see the motherly affection but do I look like a 12 year old?
I felt weird but okay. She pulled away.
"So glad to finally see you..." I said smiling.
"Oh you know Shaurya talks a lot about you.." She said folding her hands. She seemed a little anaemic to me.
"Mom..okay" He said looking away. I know that might be embarrassing but Shaurya was close to her mother. So I guess she knew about me.
"Who's that honey?"
Both of them stayed silent as the big man walked in. He had a boyish face and the same hazel eyes like Shaurya. A medium skin tone and flawless skin with a little beard. A nice jawline. He was least 6 foot tall, with a lean chest and skinny but strong body. He had the same proud stride like Shaurya's. He had a harsh voice.
I have to admit he was handsome. He really had that daddy vibe.
Shaurya had inherited much from his father. Maybe his weird behaviour too.
"Hello sir.." I said bending myself a little.
"You must be Aleena..." He asked as he stood straight before me, his hands in his pocket.
"Yes sir.." I said giving him a smile.
"I've heard of you. Shaurya, my boy here tells much about you" He said smiling crookedly and giving Shaurya a gentle tug. I could see Shaurya smile uneasily.
I hated how cocky he was even after the things he'd done.
"Have fun, I shall get the dinner ready" Her mother nodded and left.
Three of us sat together and had some nice chat. Honestly, this man did not seem bad to me. He was fun. The world's so deceptive.
"Shaurya you should be friends with men not daffodils..." He laughed. This statement came out of nowhere.
"Sorry sir but I am not a daffodil.." I said immediately reverting back.
Shaurya gently nudged. He wanted me to back off.
"Oh really eh? Show me" He said sipping his milkshake. He called someone to send someone in. After a while, a boy a little taller than Shaurya walked in.
"Fight him for me then..." He patted the boy's back. The boy looked at me as if he would eat me alive.
"Papa, he's black belt. She doesn't stand a....".
I stood up cutting Shaurya off. Her mom didn't say anything, she placed the French fries on the table and walked away.
"Let's see if she's worth the praise.." He chuckled again.
I removed my sandals and took my position, all poised.
"How many bones.."
I quickly charged at him placing a punch straight on his face and another on his stomach. He laughed devilishly. He started to throw all sorts of Thai kicks but I successfully dodged all of them. I got hold of his feet and pulled it making him fall straight on his back.
I'd learnt all sorts of self defense tricks last year. He regained his composure quicker than I thought and one of his kicks landed straight in my gut. He punched me straight on my face but I managed to dodge the kick.
This was hard, he was too quick. There's no freaking way I could save myself. So I went for the monkey trick. I let him charge at me. I made him chase around the room. I started pinching him everywhere. I rode over him and tickled him until he begged me to stop.
"I like her..." Shaurya's father grinned.
