The Unexpected Love Story

Chapter 17

As we approached are destination, I got nervous yet happy.
"Round 2 at are special place, eh?" She said with a smile. Gosh I love that smile.
"Yea.. if that's alright."
"Totally. So are we gonna have are special hangouts or talks?"
"Yea... like always, but this time it's a bit extra."

She looked at me with a curious face and started taking off. Oh no she's not gonna beat me!

And so we were chasing each other like we were kids again till we came to a stop at are tree to catch are breath. And then she saw what I setted up.

A nice picnic, a radio to play some of her favorite songs, and I also hung some decorations, and the necklace I bought her was in the picnic basket, plus I got her an extra little something.

Grace POV
I gasped with awe.
"This is gorgeous Leo! Thankyou!" I said with a sigh.
We sat down and I looked at him with a question on my face.
"Why did you do all this?"
"Well one it's your 16th birthday, but I wanted to do something really extra this year to show you how much I love you......"
"Huh?!"
"As a friend! A friend. Sorry." He said with a face palm.
Then I did something that only my body had control of. I kissed him on the cheek. Hey, at least it wasn't the lips. #akwardcentral

"It's fine. And that's Thanks."
His face grew scarlet.
"Y-your welcome."

He then started taking things out of the picnic basket and then asked me, "can you get that out of the basket it seems stuck."
I rolled me eyes.
"Ok you weakling." I smirked and laughed.
Nothing can get stuck down there. I've had to get so many things like open and unstuck and such for him.
Maybe I should give him some lessons on how to man-up. Ok....that was a good one.
I reached in the basket to find a small box.
"This an't even stuck. What is it anyway?"
"Find out."
I opened the box to find a beautiful necklace.
"Oh Leo! It's gorgeous."
He took the necklace from me and turned me around, and put it on.
I looked at it and gave Leo the biggest hug that I've ever given him.
"Thank you!!"
"Your welcome."

So we hanged out a little while and had are famous talks under are tree.
"It's getting late. We wanna start heading home?"
"Not yet. Let's just enjoy the view, and I may or may not have one last thing for you."
"Oo! Let me see!"
"Nope."
"Please?!"
"Later."
"Ugh."

And so we hung out even more, till the sun was almost set.

"Ok we can start heading back."
"Hmm, I wonder why?"

We chased each other through the fields once again and started to head home.

We got to my house, and I unlocked the lock.
I through open the door suspecting to be balloons and the usual party stuff.

What I find is everyone on the couch watching The Parent Trap.

No decorations, cake, anything.

Was I wrong?

Did I put my hopes to high.

I'm not complaining but I thought they would do something. Especially since with it being my 16th.

Leo POV
Her face!! It's soo hard to not laugh! Hehe

Grace POV
"Heyy...."
"Hey" Everyone replied.
"Hey babe."
"Soo what y'all doing?"
"Watching a movie"
"Nothing else planned tonight?"
"I don't think so."
"Ok...."
"Well.... since it's your birthday, we planned something." My mother said.
"Y'all did?!"
"Yep"

She walked into the kitchen and went to the fridge.

A cake?

She pulls out a cupcake.

"Aw. Yum. Thanks."

We did the whole song thing and then we sat on the couch.

Then it occurred to me. How did we go from cakes for everyone to one cupcake for me.

"Hey babe?"
"Yeah?"
"Can you go get my phone off the back porch?"
"Really?..... sure."

As I walked to the back I felt all eyes on the back of me. Then I turned around and no one was in the living room. Weird.... where did they go?

I shrugged and kept walking. I opened the door and gasped.....
