The general always did as he was ordered to do. He brandished his sword with the blood  of countless others so that the red lady could stand victorious atop their corpses. He fed a mad princess in a mortifying manner so that the red lady could continue to be able to smile and laugh at another's torment. He married that same mad princess at the willful demands of the red lady even as his heart sank deeper into a black hole. He had watched the petite princess as she easily gave in to her desires of luxury knowing in his black heart that he would loathe her all his life. But his heart madly yearned for the affirmation from his beloved which made any idea of rejection to be sent swiftly into the darkest depths of his mind. So when he received another order, his heart completely sank into the darkest depths.

In the days before their due departure to a castle far off the mountains, the mad princess tormented those she could while awaiting the opportunity  to do the same to the red lady. When her desires were not met she conceded to the tormenting of her vile husband. She scoffed at his scarred face and attempted to make him uglier with her nails as the instrument of her vengeance.  They wrestled against each other so that a great mess ensued hindering the maids and servants from their work and delaying the schedule so that it took a day after for the party to leave. The journey took longer as the petite princess made sure to complain at every little thing - her boredom at having to sit at a rickety and musky carriage, the irritating sound of hoofs clipping and clopping as they were led along the rocky path or the heat from the sun that caused her skin to sweat so that she felt sticky in the heavy luxurious dress she had insisted to wear. She made sure that each and every complaint were made known with a loud and shrilly voice that would make any who hear wish they could stick a blade on that white snowy neck. She would demand for rest every hour until all the servants felt more tired as they were forced to heed her every desire. Halfway through the journey, the mad princess, in boredom and lack of entertainment, decided to torment the maids with a play of truth and dare. She always won every turn and forced a difficult dare upon the women so that they dreaded being chosen. The princess turned mad with excitement and soon the dare began to become more and more life threatening. One such maid was dared to lie her body on earth as the carriage moved in her direction.

The general could not stave off his irritation any longer. He commanded the party to stop not in the hopes of sparing the life of the maid who was nearly ran over but to avoid anymore hindrances to their journey. A dead servant would have to be buried which would take time to take care of. The petite princess flew in a rage as her hopes of being entertained dashed away with the interruption of her vile husband. She cursed at him till her neck hurt from looking up at the insufferable man who sat high upon his horse. So she kicked the horse which kicked her back causing the princess to fly off till she hit a tree. Everything turned black as she fell down in wretched pain. When she opened her eyes, the party had arrived at a castle that stood above a dreary town.
