In the days after, whenever the petite princess and the vile general saw each other, there would be a kissing and touching such that left marks on pale flesh till even the servants knew to turn away when both were seen getting close together. They clawed for each other's warmth at every opportunity - the princess making sure to create "accidents" as a form of visit while the general made excuses to be left alone till they meet. There was not a night where their bodies did not collide till late and tiredness seeped into bones that sought sleep. No words ever passed between them except for the cries that determine the fulfillment of carnal pleasures.
But their happy days together did not last long for there were forces that would not allow for such things to pass. Take for example the red rose lady who saw in her glass of ball the satisfied faces of two lonely hearts holding desperately unto each other for some warmth in their cold deprived lives. Her bright red eyes turned dark as she looked away at the carnal scenes that brought no pleasure nor laughter in her bitter heart. She sighed, there was no way she would allow for happiness to reign, not because she was resentful towards anyone specific but because she generally hated a loving and kind world. She did not belong in a world of happiness for her heart yearned for the despair of others. And despair she will give to these two traitors who no longer entertained her with their senseless debauchery.
So the red rose lady called the general to return to her side so she may fulfill her wicked plans against him. The general rode fast to the capital hoping to finish whatever business the red rose lady wished for him to do. He had a mind to return immediately once he fulfilled her wishes. But her wishes were plenty as she gave him orders left and right - menial tasks that could have been done by those of lesser positions. He had fulfilled them all his pining heart growing heavy at each passing day.
The petite princess eagerly waited for his return. Days turned to weeks and weeks to months. It seemed that the fleeting moment of warmth would never last for long in the dark and dreary castle. Once tasted, she could not let go of whatever it was she had felt the past weeks with the general. So she had a mind to leave immediately. One day, a lonely carriage left the streets of a ghostly town.
