I walked around the park near my apartment enjoying the hot sun shining right on top of me and the light summer breeze hitting my face.
I breathed in the fresh air and calmness washed over me.
I shut my eyes close for a second and when I opened them I found myself infront of a tree with a bench infront of it.
There was a pretty girl sitting on that bench enjoying something on her phone.
She looked pretty. Dark brown hair, a cute summer dress and slightly tanned. Her glasses were resting on top of her head and her legs were crossed.
I didn't realize I was staring at her just like a creep. She looked up at me and gave me a small smile.
Everything around her suddenly got blurry and the focus was on her. I couldn't help but smile right back at her.
I walked across the meadow and sat beside her on the bench.
She put away her phone and I decided to break the silence.
"What a beautiful weather right?" I said while looking around. I heard her light chuckle which made me feel warm. "You're right." she answered and I finally dared to turn and look at her.
She was looking down and had a small smile on her face.
"I'm Baekhyun by the way." I told her and held my hand out for her to shake. "Nice to meet you Baekhyun. I'm Maddison." she shook my hand.
"Are you often here?" I asked her. I've never seen her around, I'm quite often at this park. "I've been here for about 3 times already. I just moved near here a week ago." she smiled at me.
Her smile was so pure and it lit up my world. I was so captivated by it. I couldn't let that go. I needed to see that smile more often.
I built up all my courage to ask "well if you don't mind maybe I can show you around here some time? I live nearby too. Do you maybe want to go out and eat ice cream with me?"
She smiled at me even brighter and her cheeks flushed a little red. "Sure! When?" she said full of enthusiasm. "How about now? The weather is great and there's an ice cream parlor down the street. We could walk there." she nodded and we made our way to get our ice cream.
The walk was fun. We talked a lot, getting to know each other. She's really sweet and nice.
"I'll pay." I said while giving the cashier the money for our ice cream. "Hey you don't have to!" she whined while taking out some money but I stopped her. "Don't worry about it." I flashed her a quick smile before getting our ice creams.
We sat down at one of the seating booths near the window and just talked. We had so much fun and were just joking around. Her smile never left her face and I was just enjoying everything about the person sitting right in front of me.
We exchanged numbers and from that day on we started to hang out every single day.
Eventually we both grew feelings for eachother and ended up dating.
One year. During that one year everything was perfect. We decided to move in together since we'd spend time together every single day anyways. I moved in to her apartment and everything was going smoothly.
I felt like I've finally reached my destination. She was my home. Everyday I couldn't wait to go home, just to see her.
Who would've thought after that first year everything would change?
She became distant. She started to go out alone a lot more. Party's, clubs, you name it.
It started off with coming home fully wasted.
After that I also caught her being on some drugs. We were constantly arguing. Me trying to convince her that her drinking and getting high doesn't have a point and her disagreeing completely.
It even got to the point where she started to slap and hit me. I was speechless the first time it happened but I didn't do anything. I didn't leave. How could I leave? I loved her. I wanted to take care of her. I had hope in her. But she never let me and the abuse continued.
It sometimes got so bad that I had to go to the hospital. Instead of telling the doctor the truth about what really had happened, I lied. I covered up the truth. I couldn't just snitch on her. I would never do that. I loved her way too much.
She didn't only come home wasted and high, abusing me and arguing with me. She also started to come home with some company and fucked around, not caring if I was right beside them or not.
Our relationship reached the point where I didn't say anything anymore. I didn't do anything besides taking care of her when she got so wasted that she couldn't even keep her eyes open anymore.
I just let her do anything she wants.
I let her treat me the way she wanted to.
