"In some countries. Ours does not practice traditional slavery. Instead they are indentured in order to pay back a debt to society when they break the law." Darius explained.

"That seems fair," Lorelai said reasonably.

"So......what happens when  to us when we get to your country? " Lethia asked her tone full of uncertainty.

Darius shifted his attention to the girl seated next to her. She was somewhat of an enigma to him. At the house she had been so demur and elegant, but the next time he saw her she was like a typhoon unleashed on his men. Now her quiet, cautious tones made his heart ache for the fear she felt. "You will be welcome to do as you please of course."

Nodding, Lethia went back to the bread she was eating. Lorelai would obviously be staying with Roman but where would she go? Perhaps she could start a new bordello.

"Lethia, you could stay with me," Lorelai said, knowing where to go was the first thing in her mind. It was the first on Lorelai's as well.

"Of course, she can stay with us," Roman said gruffly, offended and Lorelai looked at him with shock.

"I would never have assumed...you are a Captain...on a ship, I didn't figure you would be around much for us to st-" Roman cut off Lorelai by pressing her lips to his. Lorelai melted and fell quiet once more, returning to the almost childlike state on Roman's lap. Roman grinned triumphantly, he would explain more to her privately... For now her being near him was enough for both of them.

"I.....I would never think to impose on you. "

Darius smiled kindly at Lethia. "You can stay at the castle of course until we establish you a home. We would never just abandon you." The very idea that the girls had suffered enough to make them entertain such a thought infuriated the man beyond all words.

"This is all a lot of information in a very short period of time." Lorelai said after a moment. Roman chuckled and the rumble of his chest made her heart skip a beat.

"We can fully understand that."

As the day turned to night and the candles light began to wane, a low rumble made the men's heads turn rapidly towards the porthole. The ship pitched violently to side sending the wine bottle flying and people tumbling.

"What's happening?" Lorelai said sitting up with a shot as Roman secured his arms around her waist to keep her from going the same way as the wine bottle.Darius grabbed Lethia and pulled her into his chest, wrapping his arms protectivly.

"A storm, they strike fast on the open waters."

"Don't you guys need to be out there...helping?" Lorelai said unsure of the terminology on a ship.

At that Roman picked her up and set her on the bed kissing her forehead.

"I'll be right back," he said with a confident smile, but his eyes were clouded with worry. Lorelai grabbed his chin and kissed him hard, understanding to some extent the severity of the situation.

"Be careful."

Darius settled the girl on the bed beside her friend before leaving, not giving Lethia time to react. Her heart raced, not sure what exactly she was feeling.

"Lethia, come sit by me?" Lorelai said scooting towards the center of the bed as the boat rocked violently.

Lethia scooted over glad to have her friend by her side during this. "So you get to keep him after all."

"It seems entirely to amazing to be real, I feel as though it was a wonderful dream and we are going to wake up back in the Bordello...like none of this ever happened."
