A F T E R the previous night, the awkward encounter with his mother she has resided in her room until he was out of the house the next day. The whole morning she read her work emails to divert her mind from the man in the house. But it barely focuses anywhere else. She has never felt this way.

To be near a man without him taking advantage of her.

Her job is a vital part that doesn't require her spoken words and instead just needs her brain, a few emails with this person adds a good amount to her bank account. Omar is her partner who she got in contact with after she finds herself a little freedom. That is why she manages to have a different identity, a luxurious apartment and enough money for the first time. However, all of these things don't even matter to her.

To think that last night happens is absolutely impossible. There is no way someone comforted her. She thoughts she is well off without having comfort in her life. In her life, she has never received anyone's comfort or patience.

She has seen how little to no patience a human can have. In the fast-moving world today, everyone is trying to survive. Running to catch up with everything. The one who stumbles or falls down people walks all over them without a single ounce of care.

It feels like their right to do so.

You are slow- your fault.

No one cares.

Why do people need to run after things they don't want?

She shrugged, holding her laptop, walking out of the room towards her lounge. She sits on the couch with her laptop in her lap as she spends her next hours busy doing her thing.

Well, at least until the moment she finds his mother coming towards her.

The next few moments went by in silence. She knows the next thing coming will not be pleasant.

"What happened last night is not right". His mother started, "I don't know. But the more I see it will damage your and our reputation to stay like this. Even if we can't afford to be anywhere else, staying in a house with a man who is not in a relationship with you will have people shame you".

"Why not him?" She writes down on the paper forwarding it to his mother interested in the absolutely ridiculous debate

She isn't ready to speak in words to anyone else. She doesn't feel comfortable speaking to anyone else besides Rayyan.

"They will do the same to him but at different levels. Women and men are two opposite sides of the coin. Even if they are one coin, they will be dealt with differently. He will be a shame of people around him just in a more physical manner. Like how people stop giving us food, throw us out of the house. Everywhere he stepped, people called him out. Some were ready to even fight him in the name of honour. But Laith held them back". His mother explained

She wrote, "Those same people tried killing me in the name of honour".

It will never change.

No matter how much one screams right and wrong, some things will never change.

The different treatments for men and women.

It's not just a woman who is a victim daily. But men are too in a drastic way. They suffer alongside the woman just in silence at times.

Honour is a scary thing.

"Even his sisters are mocking him about his manners and my teachings. I am scared of the taint it will do to your character".

"Do whatever you want to do to save it". She wrote down, walking to her room
