Real Thing-Ruel Fanfic

Part 5

Tati's POV:

The rest of the week and weekend I was mostly preparing for school. I was so overly nervous, it wasn't like I was bad at making friends it's just that from what I have seen everyone is so different from people in Adelaide so I didn't really know what to expect. I had been talking to Renèe non stop since I left because I missed her and she was the only person I could really trust. Ever since I had been getting more gigs at pubs people who had cut me off tried to get back into my life. I wasn't even famous and stuff like that was already happening. It didn't bother me too much, the attention was alright but I knew that I just couldn't trust anyone except Renèe at my old school.
Anyways it was Monday morning and the day I was starting at my new school. Just my luck, I woke up at 8am on a first day. The one day I would want to make a good impression I only had like 30mins to get ready.
I had the fastest shower of my life, put on just enough makeup for me to not look dead and headed out the door, with all of my things of course. I walked to school because it was only like 5 minutes away from my house. The walk was pretty peaceful for the most part until I got about a street away. There were so many people, some looking at me I guess because they didn't recognise me but most people just minding their own business. I was notified that I needed to go to the front office so I could get a tour and my class schedule. As I walked though the door the lady sitting behind the desk looked at me.
"You must be Tatiana Lambert"
"Yeah I am" I was so nervous that no other words would come out of my mouth.
"Here is your schedule, Emma should be here any minute"
I look at her a bit confused, who is Emma?
"Oh Emma is one of the students in your grade, she will be giving you a tour"
"Oh ok thanks" At least I'll know one person by recess. I sat down in one of the chairs in the office to wait for Emma.
Not even a minute later a girl walks in, who I presume is Emma. She looks at me, then at the office lady, then back at me.
"Hi, I'm Emma, you must be Tatiana". She actually seemed really nice.
"Yeah, you can just call me Tati tho" we giggle because who can be bothered to say Tatiana every time they want your attention.
"Well if you follow me I'll show you to your locker and the we will continue the tour". We walk out the door and through a few hallways till we reach some lockers.
"Ok so this one on the end is yours, just put ur things in and then lock it and we'll be off again". I walk over to the locker she was pointing at and put my bag inside the put my lock on.
"So Tati, where are you from?" Emma asks me as we continue to walk down the hallway.
"I moved from Adelaide because of my dads job"
"Oh, that's cool" she says quite strangely, "are you in the art or music programme?"
"Yeah I'm in for music"
"That's dope, do you sing or play and instrument"
"Uhh both but mostly singing, but a bit of piano and guitar though"
"Oh yeah you might meet one of my friends in the singing programme"
"Cool" I say this a bit quietly because I was a bit nervous since I didn't know anyone here yet.
"Oh and by the way your welcome to hang out with my friends and I at break if you want"
"Yeah that would be great, thank you"

We finished the tour then Emma asked me what lessons I had for the rest of the week.
"Oh wow, we have almost every class together except your music ones, that's amazing" she seemed quite enthusiastic about it which made me feel like we were going be great friends.
"Ugh that's a relief". We both laugh about this while heading to each other's lockers to get our food, they were actually decently close, I knew I wouldn't get lost finding her.

Ruel's POV:

I spent my morning in English, I was glad it wasn't maths or something, my brain was not ready for that torture yet.

I got my recess and headed out into the courtyard were my friends and I usually hang out. I was greeted by Alex and Flynn and some of the girls. I was so stoked to see them all after so long even though I talked to them all like everyday.
"Where's Emma? She's the only one not here" I ask
"Oh just over there, I think she was giving the new chick a tour"
"Oh ok-" I get cut off by Emma screaming
"OH MY GOD YOUR BACK!" Before I could even get a look at her she was pulling me down into a hug.
"It's good to see you too Emma" I chuckle.
As I lifted my head up I saw her, Tati, she was here. How? She was just standing there looking at me in surprise. I managed to pull away from Emma who was pretty much strangling me.
"Tati? What- How- your here!" I said as I walked over to her
"I had to move because of my dad" she replied sounding just as surprised as me.
I pulled her into a hug and she nuzzled into my chest. "I missed you" i whispered so only she would hear me. She looked up at me with a confused look "you did?". I just smiled at her and then Emma and I introduced her to everyone. They all loved her, I could tell she would fit in just fine with our group.
