Part 9

Tati's POV:

After our little feeling confession sesh I decided that it was a good idea to go home. I walked home in the dark which probably wasn't the best idea but we live so close that it was the easiest option.
When I arrived home my dad was still not there. It was usual for him to work late so there was nothing to worry about. It was 10pm and I had just got out the shower. I walked over to my bed and guess what, Ruel's keys were there. I thought it would be a good idea to let home know that they weren't lost

It felt so surreal that Ruel and I had only known each other for one day. I feel like I've known him for years! I do think that whatever we have going on is moving a bit too fast though if I'm being honest.
Ok so new goal, no more kissing Ruel for the rest of the month aka 25 days. How the hell am I going to do that without making him feel rejected! Ugh well I can't back out of it now.
I don't know when, but I fell asleep. I was working on music and stuff and then I was dreaming... about Ruel.

When I woke up the next morning I actually had time to get ready properly! I left the house early and went to get a coffee and some breakfast from the cafe at the beach. It wasn't really on the way to school but I was close enough. At the cafe I met up with Emma ,Sunday and Mary who were also there getting food. We sat and talked for a bit then headed into school together. I had my first class with all of them so we went together. When we walked in I noticed that the boys didn't have Health with us. Actually the entire class was girls.
"What's up with the all girl class?" I ask the girls
"Oh right yeah, health isn't co-ed because we have to learn about 'girl things' and apparently boys can't keep it in their pants looking at the diagrams"
"Are they serious!!"
"Yeah it was all because of Alex, got a stiffy in health at the start of the year and then they split the classes"
"It didn't have anything to do with the 'diagrams' actually" Mary continued blushing as she said this.
"So Mary what was it from" I ask, catching on to the situation.
"Oh uhhh nothing, definitely not me or anything" she says giggling.
"Yep, sure" we all say dragging out the 'e'.

Anyways after class we went out to what I guess was their usual area where they all hang out at break and waited for the boys.
"Ugh where are they!" Sunday sighed.
" who knows what they do" added Emma
"Boys will be boys" Mary continued
Then they all turned to me, expecting me to say something.
"What! I haven't even known them for a day!" The laugh and shove me off the end of the table that we were sitting on. As a joke obviously!
"I don't find you funny" I say, quoting a tiktok and trying to keep a strait face. We all laugh. God these girls are the best people ever!
I lay back to look at the sky to find myself looking up at Ruel.
"Ohmygod! Don't sneak up on me Ruel, you scared me" I hold out my arms so he can help me up.
"Sorry for scaring you, you know I didn't mean too"
I nod and giggle at him. I sit back on the table but then Mary goes off with Alex, god knows where.
"As my sister says, I hope they are leaving room for Jesus" Ruel says.
Us girls just roll our eyes at him while the boys start making dirty jokes.
Before we knew it, it was the end of recess and time for our next classes. I had double music. I left everyone and headed to the music department. I found my way to my vocal practice. My teacher, miss. Daisy wasn't there so I had someone called Chelsea. She told me that another student would be joining us because she had to teach him too. We started without him because he was running late. We did some warmups and got to know each other a bit. Finally we hear someone stumble through the door, the familiar voice says "sorry I'm late Chels I couldn't find my folder!" It was Ruel? I turn around and I was indeed Ruel, wow, what a small world.
"Oh hey Tati... wait Tati! Why are you here?" He says sounding very confused
"Oh miss, Daisy called in sick so Chelsea had to take me for vocal aswell"
"So you too know each other I gather?" Chelsea says.
"Yeah, we are um... friends" Ruel says. I understand why he stuttered before saying friends, I didn't really know what we were either.
"Ok then kids let's get started shall we".
Ruel and I continued to warm up our voices together. Chelsea got me to harmonise with Ruel which was quite difficult because I wasn't 100% sure of the lyrics but it did sound pretty good none the less.
"Dang Tati, you voice is amazing!" Ruel says quite surprised
"Look I knew you could sing but wow"
"Haha thanks" I give him a quick smile.
In the last 20 minutes of the lesson I just sat there watching Ruel and Chelsea who turned out to be his full time vocal coach try to write a song that he was working on.
"Wait Ruel is that my melody?"
"Oh shit, uhm yeah it is, I kind of forgot"
"It's alright if you want to use it for a song just saying"
"Really? Thank you!" He gets up and gives me the biggest hug.
I ended up helping them and we finished writing an entire song!
"You know I've never finished a whole song before"
"Well now you have! We deadass could not have done it without you, isn't that right Chels"
"It's true Tati, you have a natural talents for this stuff, quite like Ruel actually"
We both look at her. Me with a 'what the hell no way!' look and Ruel with a 'you are so fucking right" look.
"You should come to the studio when we record it" Ruel suggests.
"Ok yeah, sure, that's dope" I'm pretty gobsmacked right now, I've never been in a recording studio before!
It also turned out that Chelsea was my piano teacher but Ruel had to leave for guitar so we wouldn't see each other till lunch.

The lesson went really well and Chels and I bonded a bit too. We knew we would be seeing each other outside of a school setting so there was no point in being too formal with each other which boosted my confidence 100%.

Ruel's POV:

It was now lunch time and I had just finished guitar lessons. I walk out the door to find Tati waiting for me. She was sitting just outside the door writing in a small book.
"Hey cutie"
"Oh hey Ruel, your finally finished"
"Yeah guitar usually runs overtime a bit so thanks for waiting"
"My pleasure"
We walk to her locker and I leaves my stuff with her because we were walking back to her house so  I could get my keys.
"Yeah my dumbass forgot to bring them with me"
"It's fine ahah, also don't you dare call your ass dumb, it's cute"
I stops but she doesn't realise and keeps walking. When she realises she turns around to see me standing behind her looking like I was concentrating on something
"Were you staring at my ass?"
"Well you were the one that brought up the subject"
"Ugh you perv!"
I run up to her and lift her up over my shoulder and run out the door. She playfully hits me in the back to tell me off but she didn't scream I guess to not get us in trouble.
"RUEL WHAT THE HELL!" She yells while I put her down. We were both laughing and fell onto the grass just outside the door.
When we sat up Mary and Alex were standing in-front of us looking very confused to say the least.
They helped us up and we walked over to our spot.
"So what's up with you two" I ask looking over at Mary and Alex. The look at each other then Mary finally speaks
"Well we are kind of dating"
"Like officially" Tati excitedly says.
"Yeah like officially" Alex replies
Tati and I look at each other with our best poker faces on then we look back to them.
"WE ARE SO HAPPY FOR YOU!" We both say. We stand up and give them hugs.
"What about you two, when are you getting together?" Mary asks.
We just laugh it off because neither of us were sure what was going to happen between us.
Soon the rest of the gang joined us and we had a great lunch.
