This party run smoother than I expected. Everyone talks and behave in a very proper manner that would be a dream for every etiquette teacher. Beautiful people in a beautiful place, a scenery that is too good to be true. Well, I could expect this much considering the background of these people. They probably just try to behave in front of Princess Evelyn. The topics of our conversation are just about trivial things, like the delicious restaurant in town, the latest fashion clothes that just in, or beautiful jewelry.

Why? Why is there no drama? Our secondary gender seems irrelevant here, everyone treats the others properly. Also, it's weird that they don't talk about others. Again, here I assume that they just try to maintain their image in front of Princess Evelyn, but still... Huft. Here I thought I would hear some capital's latest gossip stuffs. I starting to regret going here. Maybe monitoring the military with Darren would be more interesting.

I sighed getting bored. Calmly the tea and eating the served food. At least I could taste food from the royal kitchen. It sure is different and more delicious.

"Congratulations on your engagement, Lady Alyssa" Ah!
"Thank you."
"How is your fiance?"
"He's been very kind to me. I'm waiting for our trip this week." Adorable.
"You are so lucky to marry your childhood friend." Lady Alyssa blush again and she tried to hide her embarrassment by drinking the tea.

"Ah yeah! I almost forgot. We need to congratulate Sir Owen here for his pregnancy" Interesting. Is this the trigger?

"What a pleasant news"
"It's your second child, isn't it?"
"How long has it been?"
"Yes, it's my second one. It's only been two months."
"Congratulations"
"I hope the baby grow healthy"

"By the way, have you heard about Lady Roxanne?" Eh?
"I heard she leave the house to elope!" This one! The bait has been thrown.

"I feel pity for Nolan. He's been having a crush for Roxanne since they were in The Academy. The wedding must be canceled."
"You know them?"
"I met them in The Academy. We are from the same year, but I never heard about her lover."
"I heard it's one of the guards from her house."
"She must create some uproar"
"Of course, she's the only child. Besides, everyone expecting much from an Alpha like her"
"I heard, her lover is an Omega!"
"What?"
"That's really unexpected."
"No wonder they ran away. Her parents would never agree to that."

They keep talking about Lady Roxanne until suddenly the topic change into another person. Finally! It takes too long just to get to this point. In the end, every social gathering is the same. They'll talk about people. Well, I'm waiting for this so let's listen to the capital's tea.

"Ah... I'm jealous of young couples. They are so lovely," one of the ladies said at the end of the conversation about a couple who got married last month.

"Right, how's your marriage, Sir Caden? looks like Lord Darren is very fond of you" Ah! Is it my turn now?

"He's been very kind." At least these days.

"He looks very different compared to his days in The Academy." Eh? Young Darren? Curious.

"He's a year older than me so I don't really know the details, but I heard he-"

The voice of a fallen glass disrupts our talks. I look at the shattered glass on the floor create a mess, along with a fallen cake. What a waste, and here I thought this kind of accident won't happened.

"This scent," one of the Lady mumbled as she put her hand around her nose and mouth. Huh? I look up to others and just notice that everyone has stood up from their seat and walks back. Two people have even walked away and left. The rest are looking towards the same direction as I follow. One of the men is clenching his shirt and looks like he's in pain.
