"Hey Mom! How are you?"
"Good and you?"
"Fine, just running later for a meeting?"
"Whenever I call you are running later for a meeting" she blurts out desperate
"I know Maa, time zone's fault"
"Arnav, I rang up to ask you..."
"Really sorry Mom, but had to cut now" he cut the call and looked at the screen thoughtfully
"Aunty?" he inquired putting a hand on his friend's shoulder
"yeah!"
"Arnav why I feel like you are running from your own family"
"It's complicated" he replied taking his laptop bag from the couch and went toward the exit
"She cares for you" he tried to make him reason
"I know" he let out moving out of the house
"It's been four years since you haven't seen them; you need to com..."
"Aman not now" he warned and getting in the car "we are getting late"
Aman sat in the car as he got that the conversation was over. He looked at his best friend come boss driving with a stern face lost in his own poll of emotions and sighed "this guy needs a change"

"Dad I was thinking..." she started munching on her jalebi "it's been a month now since I'm b.a.ck" she completed gulping down.
"Khushi eat first and then talk" her mother reminded her of the manners "who would say that she stayed 3 years abroad...I wonder if all eat like this"
"Sorry...so what I was saying...oh yeah! Dad I was thinking to join office?" she said turning to her father, who looked at her with a gentle smile and replied "why not...whenever you want"
"So can I join from today" she asked excitedly
"better tomorrow, the HR department head is on leave" he cleared her confusion
"Thanks Dad" and she hugged him stretching herself from the other end of the table
"Mind one thing Khushi...even if you are my daughter, you have to start from the bottom" he looked at her with a serious face and she nodded knowing the fact that her father always praised hardwork and wherever he is today, it's all thanks to his hardwork and dedication. While growing up she had always seen in him her role model, to follow his footsteps that she decided to pursue a degree in fashion designing and she did it. Now she wanted to make him proud of her by expanding their business. She has a lot of ideas in her mind, last year just out of curiosity she attended a course from which she got to know how to blend or better take advantage of the modern technologies to expand the business and how to implement business ideas.
Shashi looked at his daughter and he knew that one day she would handle whatever he had built up, he smiled inwardly remembering how when she was a child pretended to be him with an old briefcase of his in her little hands, forcing Payal to follow her everywhere being the PA. He had always known that Payal was not interested in business and he had never put pressure on her. Payal loved reading and he was not surprised when she announced that she was taking up literature and philosophy. He let his daughters decide for themselves and he was happy with the outcome, one designer and one teacher.
