"Ahhhh!"
I jump at the sudden noise. "Dan?" I quietly call out into the flat, why? I have no idea. He falls enough that I really shouldn't be worried.
"I'm fine! This little twat jumped up and scared me!" He yells back.
Oh. He must be Skyping Addi. I chuckle and walk into his room. "How's it going in here?"
Addi is giggling on the screen and Dan is blushing with crossed arms. "Hi, Phil!" Addi pipes up. She's smiling but her eyes are still sad and cold. I wish I could help her but I know she's trying.
"Of course. You greet him with a hello and you give me a heart attack and wet pants." Dan pouts.
"If you wet yourself, you'd better go change, Dan." I say with fake seriousness.
"I'm kidding!" He's sighs in exasperation.
Addi giggles. "Well guys! I have some news! Drum roll!" Dan and I both drum our legs. "I... Have decided to start painting again!"
"I'm your muse I can already tell." Dan says and flips his imaginary hair over his shoulder.
"Sorry but I'm going to be painting this from," she points to her temple. "Up here."
"Am I not on your mind all the time?" He batts his eyelashes and I chuckle.
"No it's obviously me." I say.
"I can't tell you anything! It's a secret! Not even my friends from here will get to see!" She says and gets close to the camera. "It's a super, super secret!"
"Did anything interesting happen today?" I ask and I see a look of guilt flash across her face but it's quickly replaced by her 'smile.'
"I made cookies but Maggie and I ate them all." She says.
"Hiiiiiiii!" Maggie rolls into view on a rolly chair. "Byeeeeee!" She rolls out of view.
"What even?" Addi asks her.
"I don't know." A giggling voice says from off screen.
"Well I gotta go take her to the asylum. Bye guys!" She waves.
"Bye, Addi!" Dan and I say in sync. "Stop that!" Dan says.
"Later!" A laughing Addi says and the connection is disconnected.
What is she not telling us? I hope something bad didn't happen, or maybe she didn't want to say it in front of Dan...
If that's the case, what's going on between the two of them?
