I hate people. I hate crowds. I really hate the heat. Why is it so hot? Oh yeah because it's freaking June in Oklahoma. Why are there so many people out if it's this hot? Why did I wear a sweatshirt? Why is that girl staring at me, go away I'm better than you. Ew what's that on the ground? I hate the heat, I think as a walk home, sticking to the wall of the buildings to escape both the people and the sun.
When I unlock my door and enter my apartment, I unchain Annie and head for the bathroom. I turn on the shower and wait for it to heat up; I need some time to think over the second human encounter I had today, plus the people I'm supposed to call can wait ten minuets right?

"Oh my gosh I thought you died! What took you so long to call? Are you okay?" The slightly irritated, slightly worried female voice shouts down the phone.
"A simple 'Hello how ya doin'?' would've been acceptable, Magz." I giggle, but I'm happy she cares. "Usually it's Liz being the melodramatic one."
"I am not being melodramatic; I'm actually worried, but you obviously are perfectly fine!"
I roll my eyes. "Ugh! I'm sorry! It's really hot today and I wanted to shower because you know how I am about smelling nice."
"Yes, yes. I know. God forbid you smell unpleasant. What are you doing? Hey! Tig stop! Get off of that! Sorry, I swear that cat is going to kill me." She sighs.
"If I've heard you say that, I've heard it a thousand and four times, and I'm about to make... cookies!" I respond lazily flipping through a cookbook, happy when I decide what to bake.
"A thousand and four, exactly?" Maggie asks amusedly.
"Yes a thousand and four exactly and you're not getting any cookies!" I snap, not really annoyed, but playing the part.
"I'm sure I'm missing out. What kind of cookies."
I decide to let her jab slide. "The chocolate ones with the marshmallows."
"How'd your walk go today?" She asks, almost bored like she knew my answer.
"Great." Until the last ten minutes.
"Anything exciting happen?" She asked, and I hear the clicking of a key board in the background. She's probably brainstorming something.
"I talked to this guy named Troye." I say and crack an egg into the bowl.
The clicking stops. "What?"
"He was at the ice cream shop and really nice! And get this, he's a small YouTuber, like me, and he wants to upload some kind of cover!" I say and turn on the mixer.
"That's great! Now I hear a mixer, and you said the chocolate marshmallows what time can I come over tonight? We need to talk about this Troye boy." She asks, but it's more of a statement. I sigh. I planned on keeping all the cookies for me.
Now I have to not only mask my voice but my face about the... Second encounter. And share my cookies. Great.
