A/N:
This next part is going to be two years later. Addi is 24, Dan 25, and Phil 29. For the story purposes it's going to be 2014, sorry I know confusing but whatever. Oh and Troye has come out to the "group" but not the public yep just filling you in so this chapter isn't completely filler and boring!
Lights are flashing and the music is blaring. A voice yells in outrage at the new song. "Who requested this?"
Addi pipes up. "Me!"
"Gurl this song is OLD!" The same person responds.
"All the more reason you to know moves for it, Oakley!" Addi's eyebrows shoot up and she smirks in challenge.
"Oh gurl, you're on!" Tyler cackles and the two are, not strangly, the only ones still on the dance floor, the rest of us are on the sides resting, drinking, or watching amusedly.
Along with the lyrics, Addi pops down to the floor and hits it, then springs back up and resumes dancing. At this, Zoe, Louise, and Emma cheer.
When the song ends, Addi and Tyler walk over panting, arms around each other to, dramatically, hold each other up. "Do you have my drink?" Addi asks.
I hold out a cup and she plops down beside me, along with Tyler beside Troye. Tyler sarcastically leans on Troye's chest. "Yeah, babe. Do you have my drink?" He says in a bad impression of Addi.
"Shut up!" She laughs.
"If you two are done dancing for now can we turn down the music?" Phil yells from the food table.
Tyler waves his hand and the music soon decreases in volume. Zoe pipes up now, "Alrighty Playlist-Livers! How about we channel our inner elementary schoolers and play truth or dare?"
At these words I immediately have a flash back to the last time I played truth or dare with Addi, which was also the first time. I'm shaken out of my thoughts by a playful shove. "Danny, truth or dare? Louise asked you."
I smile down at her in thanks and turn to Louise. "I'm a pussy tonight so truth."
A mischievous glint catches in her eye. "Who do you fancy?" Oh the standard truth.
This is brought by a chorus of 'Really?'s and 'Are you kidding?'s but they soon quiet. Addi turns to me a smirks while waiting for my answer. I blush what I'm sure is bright red. I bring my hand up and rub my neck. "Well- Um- I-"
I'm thankfully saved by Addi who jumps onto my lap and throughs her arms around my neck. "It's obviously me!" She turns to me and her look seems to say 'I'm helping you go along with it.' So I do.
"Oh yeah totally! We've been secretly dating for ages!" I say the sarcasm dripping.
Everyone laughs and Addi slides off my lap. Oh if only she knew how true it was.
I look around searching for my victim. "Cat! Truth or dare?"
"Dare? I feel like I might regret this."
I grin. "Let me tweet off your account."
<><><><>
"Bye guys! See ya tomorrow! Phil you coming?" Addi yells at what's left of the party.
He catches my eye and smiles. "No I'll stay here for a bit. You guys go on ahead."
"Bye!" I shout and I say to Addi, "do you want to get a taxi or walk?"
She looks up at the sky and the moon catches her wonderfully hazel eyes. My small fancying for Addi has slowly grown over the time we've been friends, though I don't know if she feels the same way. Her quiet voice wakes me from my stupor and I hope she didn't notice me staring at her. "Let's walk."
We're silent for a few minutes, then voices a small "Hey," and bumps against my side. "You know you're not off the hook for earlier. I still want the question answered."
I turn to look at her because she's stopped. Her waves somewhat limp from the dancing and it's falling down her back and over her shoulder; she has grown it out which I like, because as cheesy as it is, there's more of her. She's still slim from what happened, plus the eating disorder that followed, but not unhealthy thin. Her skinny jeans hug her legs and hips but still let the mind wonder. Her fox top is more fitted but is covered by a green hoodie jacket. She's looking up at me because I'm still much taller than her short five four. "Dan?" She inquires and I realize I still haven't given her an answer. I look at my shoes and try to figure what to say. "How 'bout I say mine the same time you say yours?"
I bite my lip and look at her. Her smile is warm and comforting. If she doesn't like me back it's okay right? I can blame it on the alcohol if she asks. She steps forward and hugs me. "I won't judge you on who it is. I promise."
I nod. "Okay. One?"
She steps back. "Two."
"Three." I take a deep breath and say. "You."
My mouth drops at her answer and my cheeks flush red. No freaking way.
