The evening was quiet and cold ever since Natalia left the apartment, Rosalià knew what she was up to. She became paralysed in bed by just thinking of all the words Natalia said without knowing about her presence. A feeling of rage and despair which loomed about in her mind was frustrating, "Why would she do this? I don't know Natalia like this." Rosalià said as she uncovered herself from the sheets seating up right.
She became a statue gazing out into the open, speechless to her dismay which Natalia had caused. Her phone buzzed from underneath the sheets, she reached out to it to see an incoming call from uncle Ben who appeared across the screen. Rosalià starred at her phone undecided on what to do, she thought to herself "C'mon Rosalià, what if it's important? What if there's an update on from the harbour?" she asked questioning herself.
At last, she answered "Hi uncle Ben.", "Hi Rosalià, I'd like to say great job for sorting out one of our most important clients, especially with our set back from the drug bust. Our only concern now is to find a replacement for Blake." Uncle Ben responded over the phone, "I'll make sure to attend to that. By the way is his passing going to affect our operations?" Rosalià asked, "To be honest, I want nothing to do with him and whoever took him out, nothing at all regardless of the money he owed me from his fuck up. I can make up for the money he costed me in our next batch." Uncle Ben replied bitterly.
Rosalià swallowed her lips nodding her head slowly from what uncle Ben had said, "I understand, I'll make sure nothing gets in our way.", the line cute the moment Rosalià finished her sentence. She put her phone down to the side and hugged her knees curled up in her bed analysing the situation. Suddenly after a few minutes of thinking, Rosalià's eyes grew big in surprise to her thoughts, "Aha! I've got to tell Julien what's going on!" Rosalià said with an outburst of energy hopping out of her bed to get dressed.
Meanwhile at the front door to my apartment, my heart plummeted the moment I saw her. Why now? Out of all days I would have been delighted to see you but now wasn't the perfect timing. I looked down in disbelief as she came close to lift my face. "What's wrong son? Aren't you happy to see me?" my mother asked, "I'm delighted to see you mom, it's just that you caught me off guard this evening. Lately, it's been a stressful week so far." I replied holding her hand pressed against my face.
"I heard about Blake's passing, I'm so sorry, come here my boy.", I smiled faintly entering her warm welcoming hug. "I've missed you mum, please call next time you're about to visit because right now I have a guest.". We pulled away from each other and she looked at me, "Who is this guest of yours that I can't know their name?", Mum asked with her head tilted, I smiled rolling my eyes, "Why don't you join us?".
I replied stretching my arm across the door welcoming her inside, she entered and smiled, "Wow, Julien, you haven't changed a single bit, this place is untidy." She chuckled looking around the place, "Well if you had told me you were coming this place would've been spotlessly clean, don't you think?" I replied following her. She stood by the window admiring the city life and turned around, "So where's your guest?" she asked, I looked to the sofa, with no sign of Natalia. "Well she was right here but she definitely didn't leave.
Suddenly the bathroom door opened and out she came, her eyes weren't as red but you could notice that she cried a few minutes ago. "Natalia, I'd like to introduce you to my mother, Mum this is Natalia... my ex-girlfriend." I said introducing them to each other without looking at either of them. Mum looked at Natalia with a smile opening her arms, "Oh my, aren't you such a dime? You look gorgeous my dear, I didn't know little Julien had pretty friends.".
Natalia blushed and walked into mum's arms blushing, hugging her as if she had already become an in law. Once they greeted each other, Natalia looked away from mum into my direction, "Thanks for the night Julien but I have to leave, I'm quite occupied tonight, sorry.". "Sure no problem, thanks for the visit." I replied, slightly confused as I nodded my head looking back at her, "Let me escort you out." I gestured turning my body towards the entrance door.
