Oh my god y'all rlly hate the name Mark HAHAHA
To anyone whose name is Mark I'm so sorry☹☹☹
I should honestly be enraged right now. I should've just trashed the entire apartment right then and there. Just cast a huge storm in this room. But I wasn't, and I didn't; and that surprised me greatly.
I was eerily calm and composed, looking at the two disgusting excuses of humans in the couch. I felt as if I had entered a forbidden stage of anger.
The room was quiet for a while, the three of us just giving astonished stares at one another except for me of course, who just gave them a smile that formed slowly on my lips.
"Prairie, babe! I didn't know you'd be around until a few days." Mark was the first one to speak up. He said it cooly, but it's clear to see he's guilty. His face says it all.
"Yeah, I wanted to surprise you but looks like I'm the surprised one here." I lookin over to the woman beside him. I move towards her direction and she stands up, eyes wide.
"Hi, what's your name?" I ask her and smile as if I didn't just see them sucking each other's faces off just a minute ago. She looked scared but answered to me nonetheless.
"Trish." was all she could muster up in her soft shaky voice. I shook her already trembling hand and looked at Mark who was watching the whole thing happen.
"Ah, Trish! What a lovely name." I say with a knowing smile on my face, not breaking eye contact with Mark. I don't think I've ever seen him this scared of me before.
"Babe, I can explain."
Ah, there's that typical line I've been waiting for.
"There's no need, really. I don't think it would take a detective to see that you were clearly about to fuck each other." I say with no emotion, but my smile was still there. I'm honestly terrified at how calm I was.
"Plus, I actually came here to break up with you. I planned the perfect break up speech and all, hoping it would make you and I feel less bad." I say, approaching the door leading outside.
"Turns out I don't need it. I have all the more reason to end this thing between us." I turn the doorknob and open the door wide.
"Goodbye you two. Hope you enjoy that dirtbag, Trish." I say to the quivering girl and turn around, beginning to walk out. I remember something else and stop in my tracks, going back to the door to see the two still standing in the same position.
"Oh, and get rid of your stuff in my apartment before I do. You know what, don't bother. I'll just burn them." before anyone could say anything, I slam the door shut and start walking down the halls, finding my way out of the building.
Once I was outside, I made my way towards the car in the parking lot, not saying a word. I was still in shock of everything, but mostly at the fact I didn't go batshit crazy on them.
Now I wish I trashed his apartment.
I open the door to the front passenger seat and sit down. "Let's go." I don't look at anyone, just straight ahead at whatever was in front of me. Conan turns his body to face me.
