☹☹☹
We entered the hotel and waited for our room keys in the lobby. The tour manager said we would be staying with the same person we were with in the tour bus so this was gonna be just great.
Christine, Bianca and Liz would get a bigger room since there were three of them. As for Conan and I, we were given a not-so-large two-bed suite. The both of us then walked to our rooms in silence.
"Back there in the bus when you ran to the bathroom, is everything okay?" Conan asks. "Yeah, that was nothing." I shrug.
"Prairie..." Conan says after a minute of walking in silence to our designated hotel room. "How come you don't like talking to me? Every time I try to strike up a conversation you'd try to end it as quick as possible." he said in his soft voice.
"I just don't feel like talking to people at times."
"That's not what I see when you talk with the girls."
I tried to think of reasons, terrified he might find out about my issue. "Maybe it's just a coincidence that I feel like chatting when they're around?" I say as more of a question than a statement.
Sometimes I wonder if I even have a brain.
"I want to get to know you though. I've gotten close to everyone except you. And I don't want that 'cause we literally will be stuck with each other for the next two to three months." he explains.
I kind of felt bad for the guy, but then again I had a hard time trusting him. I sigh. "I'm sorry if you feel that way. All you need to know is that I have nothing against you anymore." I reassure him.
"If you say so." Conan dismisses the conversation and walks in front of me. I mentally slapped myself for making the guy feel bad, especially since we're literally roommates for the entire tour.
After what felt like hours of searching for our room in this infinite hallway, we finally found it. Conan opened the door for me so I thanked him, and entered the room.
It was pretty decent for a small room. The interior was cozy and looked aesthetically pleasing to the eyes thanks to the various decorations in it.
At least the beds are queen sized.
I think to myself as I shove my stuff to the side and throw myself on to my bed. It was so soft I could have just slept there instantly. But alas, we had to perform tonight.
After we finished sorting out our things, we prepared ourselves for the upcoming performance. It felt strange that Conan didn't try to talk to me the entire time since I was used to him doing that. I figured he was probably nervous, just like I was.
I looked at myself in the mirror as I played with the chains attached to the belt loops of my black tattered straight cut jeans. For my top, I wore a black tube crop top under a loose pale blue button up. I left the last two buttons open for style and tied up the bottom hem and paired my outfit with some white sneakers.
I styled my hair into two low braided pigtails with my hair parted in the middle. For my make up, I kept it simple with some concealer, lip gloss, and a little bit of baby blue eyeshadow to pair with my top.
I walked out of the bathroom and made a beeline for my bass guitar, picking it up the floor. "Hey Prairie, which bandana would look good in this outfit—" Conan asked but immediately closed his mouth once he saw me. "You look nice." he says shyly.
"Oh, thanks." I say feeling a blush creep up to my cheeks. "You don't look so bad yourself." I say as I look at his outfit for the night.
He was clad in a large blue printed shirt that had the American flag on it in the shape of Texas over a white long sleeve shirt paired a simple pair of jeans and white sneakers. He was holding two bandanas, one that was midnight blue with thin red stripes, and the other was white adorned with read and orange designs.
"I think the blue one suits your outfit better." I answered his previous question. "Thanks!" he says as he starts tying the bandana on his head. He looked rather good looking in his clothes.
Clean your crusty ass brain, you have a boyfriend.
We both went downstairs to the lobby and saw that everyone was ready, and with that we all drove to the venue.
☹
"Ladies, did I mention you all look ravishing tonight?" I say to the three girls as they giggle jokingly. "Why thank you, ma'am! I must say you look absolutely stunning as well." Christine says as she does a curtsy and we all laugh.
"Alright guys, we're starting in two!" the stage manager said so we all quickly went to grab our instruments. I felt nervous once again as I take a little peek at the small stage surrounded by many people in the small room.
"Hey, you ready?" I hear Conan speak to me for the first time in a while. "Yeah, a bit nervous though." I laugh. I saw that he was fidgeting with the microphone which meant he was nervous too.
"You're going to be amazing out there." I say out of the blue to him, placing my hand on his shoulder. I think Conan started blushing a bit, but I couldn't really tell since the lights were very dim.
Before he could say anything, the music started playing and Bianca entered the stage first to play the drums. "Looks like we have to go now." I say to him. "Yeah... I'll see you later. Not that we won't be seeing each other on stage but—"
"Calm down dude." I laugh and pat his shoulder, and enter the stage as well, playing my bass. Soon after, Christine and Liz entered as well, playing their instruments too.
This is it, Prairs, this is what your life has come to.
I mentally say to myself as I look at the squealing and howling crowds as they wait for the star of the show to make a grand entrance.
Once it was Conan's signal to start singing, he wasted no time and ran to the stage singing the lyrics of our first number, Generation Why.
The audience yelled and cheered for him, and I smiled at the happening. I was filled with ecstasy for Conan, and played the bass as best as I could while dancing to the beat of the drums.
I can tell this is going to be one hell of a night.
☹☹☹
It sure is gonna be one hell of a night >:)
