Hogwarts, Deputy headmistress office
A letter appeared out of thin air on the big bureau. Minerva McGonagall came through the door and saw another entrance letter for a muggleborn lying on her desk. She sighed deeply and a part of her wished that she didn't have to introduce another innocent child to the wonders of magic. More often than not this innocence would fade soon caused by the ever-growing prejudice in the wizarding world. Minerva McGonagall took the letter and left the room to make her way to the headmaster's office. At her knocking a pleasant voice called her to come in. At the sight of his friend's anxious face Albus Dumbledore asked concerned if there was something amiss. Just another muggleborn child that will be dragged into a war it doesn't understand, snapped Minerva McGonagall. Ah yes I can see that troubles you but would it not worse if they were caught unaware without the means to protect themselves and their families?, asked the headmaster with twinkling eyes. I'm well aware that keeping them out of it is no solution especially since the binding of their magic is often not permanent. It can break if they're very agitated which can lead them to develop an obscurial since they never learned to control their magic. I only wish they didn't have to realise that magic isn't all rainbow and daisies so soon in their magical education, explained the deputy headmistress. Well you should set out for Cokeworth. Don't worry I will take over your classes. That's why you're here in the first place aren't you, dismissed her Dumbledore. The decade working with him taught her when to push and when to admit defeat and this was time to not pursue the matter further. Very well then, she grumbled before leaving for the instruction of Nesrin Leilani Evans.
The biggest bedroom, Mystic Drive 13, Cokeworth
On the morning of April 30th, 1967, Nesrin Leilani Evans was rudely woken up by her youngest sister who jumped on the bed. Wake up, wake up. It's your birthday, she called while continuing to jump on the bed. Nesrin looked at her alarm clock and saw that it was only half past four in the morning. She groaned and buried her face in her pillow. Lily did you have to wake me up so early? I could have slept two hours longer. The birthday doesn't run away. Her sister's angry tone left Lily Evans untouched. Instead she whined: come on Ness. I want to see your face when you see your presents. Nesrin admitted defeat and told Lily that she would be coming down shortly. On the way down the stairs Nesrin almost collided with Petunia Evans who still seemed to be very drowsy. Pet why are you up already? Usually you are a long sleeper who hardly ever gets out of bed in the morning. How do you expect me to sleep when Lily is making again so much noise, Petunia wanted to know. The two sisters shared a secret smile because they only knew Lily as loud. When they entered the kitchen, Nesrin's eyes were immediately covered with two hands and Rose Evans whispered happy birthday into her ear before leading her to her presents. Only then did she take her hands off her daughter's eyes. There were three presents on the dining table and the largest present was leaning next to him. Open mine first. No mine. Stop that you two. None of you will miss out, chastised David Evans his daughters before turning to the birthday child asking it which present, she wanted to open first. Nesrin considered for a while before answering that she was going to work from the largest to the smallest. The biggest present revealed a new bicycle, the other four turned out to be a photo album from Petunia, a guitar from her parents, a music notebook and beautiful flowers from Lily. Nesrin stared her parents with tears in her eyes and said shoked up: I've wanted a new bicycle and to learn how to play guitar for ages! Why did you decide to grant me my wishes now? Rose and David looked at each other feeling slightly guilty for dismissing their daughters wishes out hand. David cleared his throat before he explained. For one you have gotten great grades these past two years. For two you will be leaving high school this year and we think you're responsible enough to combine school work with your hobbies without letting either suffer from it. Nesrin nodded in assent before turning to her sisters. Pet how in world name did you take some of these pictures. Not that I'm complaining since it gives me a chance to look back on the nightmare called primary school, but I really wish to know how you took them. The same goes for you Lily gladiolus flowers only grow in July so how did you get them. Before either of the sisters could answer her there was a knocking on the entrance door.
