My Only Sunshine

chapter 4 : MaPhilIndo ; Dorm Rules

"Ugh, do we have to?"

"If we don't, I'm afraid this dorm will look like a dumpster in a post-nuclear apocalypse within a week, lah."

"That's... oddly specific of you..."

Indo rolled his eyes. "But there's only three of us. How much of a mess can we possibly make?"

"How do I put this," Malaysia was going to say more, but Philippines interrupted him.

"We're MaPhilIndo.
The question we should really be asking ourselves is 'How long will it take before we turn this place into a pigsty'?"

Malaysia gave Philippines a weird glance. "That's... one way to put it..."

"I was putting it in the nicest way possible."

Indonesia groaned and put his arms up in defeat. "Well excuse me for trying to be the one giving us the benefit of the the doubt." He crossed his arms and pouted.

"Well... where should we start, then?" Philippines asked.

"Hmm... how about laundry duties? I can take Saturdays."

"Ok, good. I'll take Fridays." Philippines said. "I know Fridays are your days of worship, anyway."

Indonesia smiled. "You know us so well, Phil. Well, I'll take Sundays, then. That's your day of worship, right, Phil?"

Philippines nodded.

Malaysia clapped his hands and gave a small smile. "Ok! Next on the list: cooking. I suggest we rotate cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner once every week."

Indonesia shook his head. "If that's the case, we'll be late to school every week that it's Phil's turn to cook."

"Hoy!"

They ignored Philippines, and Malaysia put his hand on his chin. "For once, you actually have a good point there, Indo." He smirked.

"Hmph," Philippines pouted and crossed his arms. "fine. Since there's three of us, how about we just assign ourselves to cook one major meal every day?"

Malaysia thought about it for a few seconds. "Not a bad idea, Phil." He smiled. "Since I wake up the earliest, I'll be in charge of breakfast."

"O, dibs on cooking dinners!" Philippines called out as he raised his hand like a student impatiently waiting to be called on.

Indonesia snapped his fingers. "Dangit, I wanted to be in charge of dinners."

Malaysia spoke up. "Actually, I think it'd be better if you cook lunches, instead. Phil does have a habit of sleeping in the afternoons, remember?"

"A.K.A siestas."

Indonesia rolled his eyes and chuckled. "Careful, Phil, your Hispanic-ness is showing."

Philippines gave him a quick death glare. "Are you asking for death so soon, Indog?"

Indonesia simply smirked and scoffed. "Show me what you got, Philippain-in-the-"

Not in the mood to possibly witness a murder, Malaysia quickly walked between the two. "Moving on! About cleaning up after each meal, I'll be in charge of cleaning up after each breakfast. Indo will clean after each lunch, and Philippines will clean after each dinner."

Indonesia and Philippines both looked at each other and shrugged. "That's fair."

Malaysia took this as his cue to move on. "About the lounge, I don't think I have to remind you about common sense, and to pick up after yourselves, lah." He said. "Oh, and curfew is 9p.m on weekdays. No TV after that, too. Curfew is 10p.m. on weekends, breaks, and holidays."

Philippines spoke up. "Is it okay to stay up a bit late if we're studying?"

Malaysia thought about it for a few seconds. "I guess, but if you have to stay up late for whatever reason, do so in your rooms, lah."

Indonesia and Philippines only nodded in response.

"Oh, and playing Mobile Legends 'till 3a.m. isn't a valid excuse to stay up late, lah." He glanced at Philippines' direction. "I'm looking at you, Phil."

Philippines scoffed. "Who are you, my mother?"

Malaysia sighed and moved on. "And regarding cleaning up or individual rooms, we're all responsible for our own rooms. So I expect your rooms to be neat and tidy." He glanced at Indonesia this time. "Indonesia..."

Indonesia rolled his eyes. "Just like Singapore... how cute. She really rubbed of on you."

Malaysia sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Don't remind me..."
