//Singapores' POV

Still trying to get my mind off yesterday's events, I decided to get to work on that big science project already. So I called in Timor Leste and Papua New Guinea from their bedrooms to the lounge and talked about what we'll do.
Papua New Guinea leaned her head back against the couch as she groaned. "Why can't we just do a baking soda volcano and call it a day?"
I shook my head. "You heard what Mr. NASA said. We have to be more creative than that. Otherwise, we fail science. And I don't want my parents-"
"Which parents?"
Timor Leste gasped and quickly reached her hand out to hit Papua New Guinea in the stomach.
"Ow, Timor, what the heck?!-"
Timor Leste shook her head in disapproval. "Too soon, PNG. Too soon."
I sighed. "Don't worry about it, guys. Let's just... let's just get this over with already."

I was looking down at my lap, deep in thought. I was trying to help suggest ideas for what we can do for our science project. But it seems that no matter how hard I try, the topic of my... adoptive family... and my real family seem to take over my thoughts.

"Haha, how about we build a time machine?"
My head shot up.
Timor Leste sighed and facepalmed. "Kakak PNG, please, take this seriously."
Papua New Guinea crossed her arms and pouted. "Hmph, but I am serious, Tim-"
"And just how do you expect we- mere students with no background in... whatever category time traveling is in- achieve that... when not even the smartest minds of then and today can't even-"
"We'll need materials."
Papua New Guinea and Timor Leste looked at me like I grew a second head.
"Excuse me?"
Papua New Guinea is a genius! Ok, look, I know she was only joking around with that suggestion. But with the right materials, and some accurate mathematical calculations, I know I can make that possible!
And, if I do manage to invent this, not only will I get a good grade, I'll be all over international news! I can already imagine the headlines... 'Singaporean genius defies reality and space-time continuum; invents time machine?!'
Best of all, I'll... I'll finally know and be able to fully understand my biological parents' history together; and why they... did what they did...
I'll finally get some answers.
I know I can do this. I excel in math, after all. Top student. And in Mr. NASA's science class, I'm second only to the American woman. All I need is-
