Today everyone was nervous and slightly worried. It was the day of Niall's surgery. A major knee surgery at that...

"Babe you need to wake up" I whispered in his ear. It was already 11am and he had to be at the hospital by 2.  I kissed his slightly parted lips before getting up and going downstairs. I had woken up ages ago. Today I was wearing this.

I went out into the garden and began lightly bouncing up and down on the trampoline. Once I had gotten used to it I began doing different tricks and stuff that I had learnt when I was at school. I stopped when I realised that Niall was watching me. He came and got on the trampoline as well.

"Why did you stop monkey?" He asked. I really did like his new nickname for me.

"Because you were watching" I replied quietly.

"aw" Niall smiled.

"You ready for this Ni?" Liam asked. We had just arrived in the hospital car park.

"Yeah i guess" He replied nervously. We were all nervous about it but we all knew that Niall was the most nervous.

"It will go okay mate" Louis reassured him.

"Okay" NIall replied. We all got out of the car and went into the hospital.

"Niall Horan for knee surgery" Niall said to the woman at the desk.

"Ok, right this way" She said and got up. We all followed her where she took us to a room with a bed and two sofas in it.

"The doctor will be in to talk to you about your surgery in a bit" She said. He nodded and she left. Niall layed on the bed and i sat on the sofa beside it with Louis and Liam. Harry, Paul and Zayn sat on the other one.

"We will be able to stay for an hour or so but Simon wants to talk to the boys" Paul said.

"Okay" Niall replied.

Probably 20 minutes later the door opened and the doctor walked in.

"Hey Niall, I'm Doctor Tom" He smiled.

"Hi" Niall replied.

"So we are going to repair some of the tissue and ligaments surrounding your knee because of the amount of times it has been dislocated" Tom explained. He then went onto explain how they were going to do it and when they were going to do it. The boys had to leave and i said that i would stay to reassure him. The doctor recommended that they came back tomorrow when Niall would be fully awake, so that is when they were coming back.

"Have you got any questions?" Tom asked Niall once the others had said goodbye.

"What's the anaestesia like? I've never had it" Niall asked.

"Well its general anaestesia which means you will be asleep the whole time throughout the surgery. We will give you the anaestesia through a breathing mask and your partner will be able to stay with you through that process if it relaxes you more. You have to be relaxed through this process. You will begin to feel quite sleepy soon after inhaling the gas but that's totally normal, things may become dizzy or unclear, but just go with the flow, its all part of it" TOm explained and Niall nodded.

"When will the operation be and for how long?" I asked quietly.

"We'll take you through in a few minutes and it will probably be a few hours. You are welcome to wait in here and i will come and visit you throughout the surgery" Tom smiled. I nodded and he left. He then came back a few minutes later with a few other people and they wheeled Niall's bed through to the operating room and i followed them.

"Right you okay Niall?" Tom asked him. Niall nodded and i sat on a chair beside him and held his hand.

"Are you going to play the game that some people try to play, see how long you can fight the anaestesia?" Tom asked. Niall thought about it before nodding.

"Right, Nellie if i can get you to hold this and i will tell you when to hold it on Niall's face" TOm told me, passing me the breathing mask.

"Right everyone good to go?" Tom asked the operating team. They all nodded or responded possitively so Tom told me to place the mask on Niall's face, so i did.

Niall decided that he wanted to hold it himself so we let him but if it ever came off i had to hold it on.

"I got pins and needles in my arm" Niall said, about a minute after the medicine was put in through an IV.

"Thats normal, just go with it" Tom replied.

"Stop.... s-spinning-g!" Niall stuttered a few seconds later.

"Babe, just go with it" I whispered, stroking his fringe.

"I love you" He whispered.

"I love you too" I replied. His arm dropped as his eyes closed so i had to take the mask from his grip and hold it to his face. A few minutes later one of the operating team took it from him.

"Love you" I whispered and kissed his cheek before going back to the room that i was previously in.

1 Hour 20 minutes into surgery

I was currently just sat on the mindow sill staring out into the carpark. This wait was long and boring, especially when you have no one else to talk to. Just then the door opened and i walked Tom.

"Hey Nellie" He smiled.

"Hi Tom" I replied.

"So the surgery is going well" Tom informed me.

"Thats good" I smiled. Tom nodded.

"Are you worried about anything?" He asked. I just shrugged, i didnt really know. All i wanted was Niall to be here with me...
