" These battle scars don't look like they're fading
Don't look like they're ever going away
They ain't never gonna change, "

Not everyone understands what it's like to hide behind a mask. Afraid of what people would say if they spotted the horror...

Maleshei sat across from Wolffe, tears streaming down from her eyes as she looked down at her hands. She was still scared, she knew that Ahsoka was coming, but she was afraid she wouldn't make it in time.
She didn't want to believe it, but with the crack in the escape pod from the pod hunter squeezing it, the air was starting to grow thin, making it hard for her or Wolffe to breathe.
Wolffe's breathing began to get raspy, and Maleshei knew it. It won't be long before they both lose oxygen. Maleshei held out her hand, grabbing his attention as she did. Wolffe looked from her hand to her, Maleshei nodding to her hand before he grasped it.
"I may have just met you, Commander Wolffe, but you have a good heart. All of you do. I can see why my Master values your lives more than anything. If we don't make it out of this alive, I just want you to know now, I'm glad to have died by your side. As a friend."
Wolffe smiled slightly before he nodded, taking in her words as he did. He gave her hand a comfort squeeze before they pulled their hands away. Maleshei sighed, looking out the pod as she did. She saw Plo Koon speaking with Boost and Sinker, probably telling the same things that she told Wolffe. But then, she sensed something.
Her heart began to throb in excitement and relief as she knew who she was sensing. She got up quickly from her spot across from Wolffe and looked to see a ship approach, it's light shone at the pod.
She smiled brightly in relief, tears beginning to pool from her eyes as she did. She was glad that help had finally came. Because even though at the moment she was ready to give up, the Force had other plans for her.
The ship had fly behind the pod and had attached a cable to the back of it, slowly pulling it in when secured.
As soon as Maleshei felt a light breeze through the cracks, she used the Force and force pushed the pod doors open. The moment she did, she had let out a sob in happiness as she saw her old friend from the Jedi Temple.
" 'Soka!"
"Mal!" The two Padawans met each other halfway and hugged each other tightly when they did. Maleshei had never been so happy to see her best friend. In her mind, she was praising the Force and also the others for keeping hope that help would come.
And it did.
She didn't know how long they were doing this, but when they broke away, Master Plo had just jumped off the pod, nearly tumbling over as he did.
"Master! Are you okay?" Maleshei asked while quickly running to her Master's side.
"Master?" Ahsoka asked as Maleshei looked back at her. "So that's why you were with Master Plo."
Maleshei nodded before looking back at Master Plo to see him resting himself against the pod. She didn't think twice about it and quickly hugged Plo slightly tight. She didn't expect, however, for him to hug back.
"Thank you, Master."
"For what, young one?" He asked as she pulled away, wiping away her tears before she smiled under her mask. "For teaching me that having faith could lead to greater possibilities."
"You are welcome, my dear Padawan." He said with a hint of a smile in his voice. A medical droid had came up to Plo and began to examine him before going to Wolffe, Sinker, and Boost.
"Master Plo, Master Skywalker wants to see you in the cockpit." Ahsoka said while helping Plo Koon to his feet. "Alright, Maleshei? Will you be okay down here?"
"I'll be fine, Master. Go ahead." Maleshei said with a nod before both himself and Ahsoka made their way up to the cockpit, leaving her to look after the clones.
"You doing okay, kid?" Boost asked as Maleshei looked at him. "I'm fine, Boost. I'm just..glad we made it out alive."
"Yeah, well, we ain't out of the woods yet. We still have to get out of this system before the Malevolence finds us." Wolffe said as Maleshei shook her head.
"Yeah, you're right. Let's just hope this pilot, whoever he is, knows what he's doing." Maleshei said, thinking about what Wolffe just said. She had to remember to have faith. And if she doesn't have faith, none of them will. "We'll make it out of this, Wolffe. We will."
